Duck Rice Smile Aug 16, 2012

We came over here for lunch as it was well recommended by friends who said that the food here is nice. We settled for a few varieties and this duck rice was one of them. We ordered with a additional tau kwa and a egg. It was really nice as the rice was fragrant enough and the duck meat was tender and well stewed. The sauce and the chilli was good too and if I'm not wrong, we paid around $4 for this plate of food.

Fried Chicken Meal Smile Aug 15, 2012

Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

I will come probably once or sometimes twice a year to the zoo when friends from overseas visit us and I always keen to eat at KFC which I discovered on my last trip that the fried chicken here were well fried and the battered skin were crispy till the last bite. Somehow it tasted better at this outlet especially the original flavour. Eventhough the queue is often pretty long but the staffs are quite efficient and anyway worth the waiting.
This outlet is situated besides the water fountain where the kids will enjoy getting themselves wet and the adults still can enjoy the finger licking good fried chicken in the air conditional restaurant.

Wanton Mee Smile Aug 14, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Noodles

Was at this area to do some shopping alone and came over to food republic to have lunch. There were many choices at this foodcourt and the char siew attracted me. I got the wanton noodle dried at $4.50 a plate. The char siew was good and the meat just slightly on the lean side but the wanton was very small and the filling was smaller than a 20 cents coin, quite pathetic. They should have a bit more filling than it will be perfection. The sauce was good and the noodle was QQ.

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

After shopping and walking the stretch of orchard rd and time to take a rest as was feeling thirsty. Came by this area and landed at this stall as was attracted to their menu on the set A which consisted of any fried dough fritter plus a cup of soya bean drink. So I had the yu tiao which was crispy and not oily and a lukewarm soya bean drink which was thick and beannie in taste. It was lovely to have these two as afternoon tea.

A Merry High Tea Smile Aug 14, 2012   (Related Review)

Finally I made it to Carousel! I had tried umpteen times trying to make reservations for this place but time and again I was always 'rejected' by them as they were fully booked even I called them a week before.
This time round my friend managed to get seats for 32 of us and we were all happy that they could take in a big group of us. The buffet starts at 3.30pm and once we were in, we were all ready to zoom to the respective food counters and piled our plates. I went for the popiah(ok only) and the dim sums( the char siew pau was good but not the others) and of cos the sashimi which they served salmon belly(fresh), tuna(so so as found many 'veins' on them), sea bream(fresh) and the prawns(ok only) and they had a small selections of sushi.
They served a few local food such as laksa, yong tau foo, nasi lemak and tahu goreng and teochew porridge. As for the sweets, they served malay kuehs, chocolate fondue, ice cream, ice kachang, cakes, bread puddings and scones. Quite a wide spread and we were merrily eating and drinking(coffee n tea of cos) until our stomach content! We sat until the end of the buffet which was 5.30pm! Overall was okay and better not have too high expectations.
It is around $40 after a 10% on a certain credit card promotions.
