Chocolate Mocchi Smile Sep 07, 2012

These mini ones attracted a crowd as they were offering some samplings for people to sample. I took both the chocolate mocchi and the sausage crossaint to have a try, and find that it was unique to have a small amount of bread dough wrapping up a mocchi inside it, the texture was chewy and soft.
The sausage crossiant was on the normal side and it was more of what sort of sausages they were using it. The sausages tasted slightly sweet and a tinge of cheese. I got a 100gm@$300 each and probably around 7 to 8 pieces.

pathetic filling

pathetic filling

As we were having some other finger food for breakfast, saw this stall with a big signage on the po luo bao and thought will give it a try. They have 3 different kind, the char siew, yam and sweet potato ones. I bought both the char siew and sweet potato.
Actually the textures of the bread was not too bad, fluffy and tasty but the filling was indeed very pathetic. Each bite on it was as though only a flavoring but really can't savored any meat, same with the sweet potato. They were at $1.00 each. I rated it poor mainly becos of the fillings inside.

Pastries & Puddings Smile Sep 06, 2012

I knew of this bakery when I was in korea some years back but never got to visit it. I came by the other day to this mall and saw the bakery and was delighted it came to Singapore but didn't grab anything that day as I was in a rush. Came back today and got a couple of stuffs which I couldn't resist and wanted more as they all looked so inviting to the palate!

The cakes at the display were very very impressive and they were around $8.50 and above.
Then they have another fridge full of display on the Snowy puddings with berry, mango and original flavor in a cute glass bottle and they were at $4.00 to $4.50 per bottle. I got the berry and mango flavor and they were really smooth, creamy, with real fruity taste and not sweet.

As for the section of bread and pastries, they were just as impressive and one may not be able to stop at just selecting one and would wanted more. I got a chocolate half ring bread(nice and the centre filled with amount of chocolate @$2.80) and the milky almond cubic( the dough was nice and couldn't described the texture and there were almond cream inside, nice and complimented well with the whole thing @$2.40), wished I had taken some more.
Of cos there are seats for dine in and the ambiance looks quite cozy and they serve beverages too. Must try.

Carrot Cake Smile Sep 06, 2012

nice carrot cake

nice carrot cake

Initially we thought we just settled for only a piece of chocolate cake but I couldn't resist the carrot cake and so I ordered it. I always enjoyed the x'mas fruit cake(only available at year end of cos) and their carrot cake and wouldn't missed it if I were to come by here. Reason was they were usually generous with the fillings, the texture of the cake was always moist and no strong taste of any bi-carbonate soda as some cakes elsewhere tend to have the taste of it. I think it was $7.00++ a piece.

fried beancurd

fried beancurd

Came here around 10 plus in the morning and didn't eat any breakfast and I saw this stall with many chinese snacks and I bought a fried beancurd skin with fish meat filling and a steamed dumpling with pork and prawns. They were both tasty and the beancurd skin was crispy and the dumpling's filling were fresh and no porky smell but both also slightly salty. Both around 80 and 90 cents each.
