Zinger Burger Smile Sep 04, 2012

Helped a colleague to get this Zinger burger meal set to go at $6.70 inclusive of a drink(additional 80 cents if change of drink), whipped potato and a coleslaw. She has longed for it and said that it was still as good for the chicken was tender and the skin was crispy, the spicy marination and added a 'punch' to the burger.
I took a bite and like it instantly as I normally would only ordered the original flavor and I was surprised that the spicy flavor was not too bad. smile

We actually wanted to have french food for dinner but somehow their menu wasn't that attractive that we diverted for chinese food instead. My friend's first choice was Taste Paradise and we all agreed. As we were last minute walk in customers, we were told that we have only one and a half hour to finish our meal as their restaurant was fully booked after that.
So we settled for a simple dinner for 5 persons with a fish maw soup(very sweet and tasty with some herbs that looked like branches), a signature roasted chicken(very well roasted and the skin was amazingly crispy and the flesh was succulent and tender), a roasted meat combi(char siew, roasted pork and suckling pig, all so yummy and well roasted), a mayo with wasabi prawns(hmm, very normal) and finally a fried seafood mee sua( very oily but generous amount of cubed prawns and scallops).
We finished our dinner within 45 mins which normally you couldn't with chinese dishes at a restaurant as often they would served every dish in a slow pace. It happened so fast that we didn't really get to slowly sipped our chinese tea and enjoy the ambiance. Our total bill was $215.

This otah bun was also one of those finger food that I got in order to satisfy my hunger pangs. I was told they have sotong, fish and prawn and they were from Muar. Anyway, I ordered the fish on toast( actually was on a steamed white bun) at $2.20, and they served pipping hot. It was spicy yet acceptable and the ingredients were good, chuncky and generous, I even bite on some fish meat. Those commercial otak can't beat this but of cos.
Worth the try.smile

Was glad to know Da Zhong Guo is here in Takashimaya and I need not to go all the way to Chinatown instead. I like a few of their biscuits which are old school and traditional and the taste still remain which is important.
I spotted one of my favourite which was the egg white cookies, the texture as though of half cake and half bread, simple yet fulfilling. They omitted the usual over powdered flour on the cookie which was good. I took 3 pieces at one go when I came home, just can't resist! Per pack of 4 at $2.40.

Mexicana Burger Smile Aug 29, 2012   (Related Review)

Besides the chicken(original flavor)meal set, we ordered also their popular mexicana burger. The chicken was so tender and juicy and there was a sauce with it which tasted liked mayonnaise and yet also tasted liked ranch sauce and there were nachos added to it that made the burger had different effect from softness to crunch. This set was the combo meal and it came with a soft drink and french fries at $7.60.
