cake Smile Sep 11, 2012

We went around savoring pastries and cakes today and discovered many small and nice cafe and bakeries with wide selections at this area. We spotted Smoulder and the kids were excited to see the petite size of the lava cake, so I bought some for them to try. Per piece was at $3.20 and if purchased 3 pieces then it would be at $9. I got the signature chocolate, the rum & raisins and the intense chocolate flavor, the kids loved it and agreed that it was nice and the quality was of good grade but I did think it was a bit dear as the size of the cake was half of the size of a muffin cake case.

Pandan Nasi Lemak Smile Sep 11, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre

There were couple of nasi lemak stalls 'infested' at this hawker centre and everyone had their own opinions as which stall serves the best nasi lemak. I just followed the crowd, the longer the queue the better the food must be. We ordered with a chicken drumstick, fishcake, omelette and ikan bilis at $3.00.
The rice was very fragrant with both the pandan leaves and coconut, the ingredients were all tasty and the chilli were super too! We really enjoyed it.

Iced Tea with Lime Smile Sep 11, 2012

refreshing

refreshing

It was often the usual drink that we will go for at a hawker centre, either a soya bean drink or a sugar cane drink. But this time round my friend ordered a iced tea drink with lime at $1.20 and surprisingly it was not only refreshing but also quite unusual as the lime gave it a boost to the normal tea. They were generous with the lime too as they gave 4 halves of it for each cup. Nice.

lor mee OK Sep 11, 2012

ok only

ok only

This was one of the famous lor mee stall at this area and during my days when I worked around this area, I failed not to visit them at least twice or thrice a month. Often there would be a long queue and usually had to wait around 15 to 30 minutes for our turn. Anyway, we ordered a $3.00 bowl of noodle.
The taste was different from before as the gravy was less thicken as before and the ingredients were slightly lesser than before too. Overall the standard has dropped.

Fishball soup Smile Sep 09, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre

It's a must to eat at Say Seng whenever I come to Golden Shoe Food Centre for lunch. Those were the days that I often had mee pok dried and they were packed in a cze cha paper box. This time round we only had fishball soup and minus the mee pok as we were stuffing with other food also. As understood their fishball were handmade and they tasted good and the texture were bouncy. A bowl at $3.00.
