Ah Loy Thai Smile Nov 14, 2010

Categories : Thai

This is my number x times visits to the restaurant. The thai food served is so delicious and hence so many people do not mind to queue on the staircase...
The food is so limited and some of the dishes will out of the stock at around 7pm. Do go there early to avoid any disappointment.
If you were asked about thai food, first thing must be their tom yum goong. Although i cant really take the spicy food, i still go for their tom yum goong. It's served in the claypot and lots of ingredient such as seafoods and mushrooms.
Butter calamari is always out of stock, but i m so lucky today to have it. It comes with the mango salad. It's definitely delicious and therefore i call myself lucky to have it. tongue

Malaysian Wantan Mee Smile Jul 31, 2010
Always see the pontian wantan mee in singapore. Happened to pass by this restaurant when i on my way to the holiday plaza.
The restaurant is very "colorful". Their tables and chair let me feel like i'm at the kindergarden.
Various type of wantan mee sauce for you to choose such as black sauce with or without chili and tomato sauce. Each of us order the different flavour. Tomato sauce is very tasteless. The black sauce blend well with the mee. Noodles is "Q", the wantan is crispy. Overall is great.

Restaurant Pekin Smile Jul 31, 2010
When we first step in to the restaurant, it's very crowded. We thought there's wedding dinner, but all customer is passerby.
The food price is reasonable than we think. Food served fast and the presentation is good. But the staff is a bit blur, always serve the wrong dishes to wrong table.
The spinach tofu is very crispy outside and silky inside. We also order the roasted duck, LuoHanZai and roasted pig.
We found the roasted duck very worth it. Not too oily, meat tender and taste just nice.
Roasted pig is slightly expensive. We ordered it because the staff told us it's only for limited period...
Will definitely go there again.smile
Great!!!!

50% off all seafood Smile Jul 29, 2010
Categories : Singaporean | Restaurant | Seafood | Kids-Friendly

Ah Yat seafood is having the 50% off all seafood during weekday. The promotion since last year or even earlier. Tried few times and the promotion is still on till no end date.... haha.
The drunk prawn soup is cooked in craypot. Very fresh and goes with the light soy sauce. They mixed the sauce with small chili padi and spring onion.
Sri Lanka crab we choose to use chicken oil steam. It's like steam egg. Very smooth and nice. no extra cost incurred.
Bamboo clam steam with garlic is perfect combination and also their chef recommendation.
The seafood is considered cheap after the 50% discount. Hope they can keep on having the promotion... haha

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh Smile Jul 29, 2010
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

Songfa just recently open an outlet three door beside their main store. Hence, there's no more waiting outside for the seats. The newly outlet is cooler than the main outlet.
In song fa, you can order 2 type to mix. However, the portion is very small. We tried to order the pig tail mixed with pig kidney. There's only 3 small piece of pig kidney and 4 small pig tail (about 2-3cm long)
We also order the pig liver to eat. It's not too hard and not "bleeding" as well. Their "tou ki" i found a bit overpriced as the portion is very small. With or without chicken feet is the same price. Soup is free refill, lots of pepper. Is singapore bak kut teh. If you like this type of bak kut teh, song fa is your choice!
