Categories : Hawker Centre | Rice

This was my first time trying hakka food and i totally fall in love with it.
It's only vegetable with rice. Healthy food choice. I've also ordered the hakka tofu and egg because i scared i do not like the thunder tea rice. tongue
The stall signboard listed down all the benefits of thunder tea rice such as promotes good health, slimming, detox and help to treat diabetes, etc.

Fishball noodles Smile Dec 31, 2010
Categories : Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles | Brunch

As I was not feeling well today, I decided to have a light lunch. I ordered fishball noodle soup for takeaway from lau pa sat market. The fishballs were very bouncy and chewy (like a ping pong ball) and the stall owner generously gave a large portion of minced meat. The soup was also quite tasty although I do not know whether they did use any msg or preservatives. Nevertheless, the dish made me feel better in terms of my appetite. smile

Spending per head: Approximately $3.50(Lunch)

Economic Fried Bee Hoon OK Dec 19, 2010

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Tao Yuan Cooked food located at the Beo Crescent food market. They are famous in the cheap rickshall noodles. Their economic fried bee hoon is selling at the reasonable price also. The portion of the bee hoon is big. I ordered the fried bee hoon and noodles and add a piece of luncheon meat. The luncheon meat slice is very thin but it costs me only $1.30. Good choice for breakfast.

Student promo OK Dec 16, 2010

Categories : American | Steaks and Grills

First time trying their student meal. Not too bad but the portion is relatively small compared to the set lunch. There're 3 selections for students meal: beef pasta, bake rice and chicken chop. It's comes with the drinks and the ice cream. I also top up 1 dollar for the soup and bread. The soup of the day I tried was potato creamy soup. It's delicious and goes well with the garlic bread. I ordered the chicken chop with chips for the main course. The chicken is crispy but I found it's only flour and the meat seems like over-fried.
The dessert is ice cream with nuts. At first I thought it's only a scoope of ice cream but they added nuts, whipped cream and put a cherry on it.
The student meal costs me about $8.50 for lunch.

Cheap but poor staff service OK Dec 15, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Teochew | Coffeeshop

This stall is located near Zouk, therefore you can see alot of "chiongster" at wee hours. Nevertheless, I went to visit the stall during lunchtime and it was not so packed as compared to late night period. I ordered the sweet sour pork, steamed egg and fried potato along with my rice. I love the steam egg as it is very tender and melts in my mouth. The only thing i don't like is the attitude of their staff. They were quite reluctant to serve me initially when I said I want to order rice instead of porridge. Perhaps they will charge me more if I had porridge instead.
