Packed a packet of economy rice to school to eat the other day.
Love buying food from industrial area because the portion is always big lol

So this huge packet of rice only costs me about $4.

Rice + Ru Dan (braised egg) + fried beansprouts + fried pork ribs

The rice portion was really big and the quality of the rice was very good.
The ru dan was very nice as well, I love ru dans lol
Stir-fried beansprouts was very fresh and sweet. Very well cooked!
Fried pork ribs was very delicious too!!! Very crispy and quite salty, which tasted very good with the rice.

Really love buying from this stall because the dishes are so great, and the aunty is really kind smile

126 Dim Sum Smile Jan 28, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

126 Wen Dou Sek is definitely the best place (at least, for me) when you are craving for some dim sums in the middle of night.
My father likes to bring us there for some hot delicious dim sums for supper on cold rainy nights like that day.
It was 2am, I wanted to eat some chee cheong fun and char siew bao, so it was very sweet of daddy to bring my sis and I there.
We ordered a plate of char siew bao, chicken leg, chee cheong fun, har gao, siu mai, and prawn roll.

The total bill was about $27++ which is quite reasonable for such good food!!!

The char siew bao bun was very soft and smooth, the char siew sauce inside was simply perfect!
The chicken leg was also not bad, not as oily as expected smile
I love their chee cheong fun because they were extremely soft and smooth. I wish I can order as many plates as I like!!
Their chee cheong fun sauce is very unique as well, it was very thick, compared to other dim sum shops' watery sauce.
The har gaos (prawn dumplings) were stuffed with prawns, pork and mushroom. Love the texture and chewing sensation!
Same goes to their siew mai.

One of the best place to eat dim sum in Singapore!
The shop was really small and stuffy though. However, you can choose to sit outside if you want smile
Service was good and efficient. Waiting time was just about 10-15 minutes tongue

I spent approximately $4+ for this packet of rice the other day.
I ordered yong tau fu bittergourd, fish cake and mixed vege.

The yong tau fu bittergourd was very big, very worth the price. The fish was also chewy smile
As for the fish cake, it tasted pretty good as well.
The mixed vege (cucumber + pineapple + tomato) was very well cooked, especially the tomato sauce
which tasted super nice with the rice!!
Really appetizing meal lol

Will come back to eat more since the aunty was very nice and friendly,
and the food is really niceeee!!

Lunch Smile Jan 28, 2013   (Related Review)

I had this for lunch the at the canteen in Techplace 2 that day.
This packet of rice costs me approximately $4, with added rice.

I ordered beansprouts, fried sausages and potatoes, and soy sauce chicken.
The rice portion was big, the quality of the rice was not bad.
The stir-fried beansprouts (taugeh) was very fresh and crispy.
The fried sausages and potatoes are also very nice. The potatoes are not too soft.
The soy sauce chicken meat was tender, and not that dark in colour.
Thus, this meal is quite a healthy meal. smile

Service was good, and there was not many people there so I do not need to queue for long lol

Lousy Service Cry Jan 28, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Food Court

After weeks of eating in North Canteen, I finally decided to follow my friends to eat in South Canteen today,
since South Canteen is much nearer to our project area.
I wanted to have a balanced meal today, so I went to buy rice at the Economic Rice stall there.
The queue was quite short there today.

I bought this plate of rice for $2.50, the price was reasonable.
However, the rice in North Canteen will be definitely cheaper than this.
I can get this for $2 there, with bigger portion.

I ordered 2 vege and 1 meat,
2 green leaf veges and stir-fried dark soy sauce pork.

The vege were quite fresh and bland, they were way better than before.
This vege from this stall used to be salty last time!
The pork was very dark. I feel that it was very unhealthy since a lot of dark soy sauce was used.
It was still fresh and not salty though...

Oh yes, I want to complain about the aunty's service huffy
Grumpy aunty. I told her not to pour the dark gravy onto my rice but she was so quick,
she poured one whole ladder of dark gravy on my rice and even after hearing I said I do not want the gravy,
she ignorantly placed the rice on the counter, making me to pay for it.
She also poured some of the rice back into the bucket, once she saw me at the ordering lane, probably because I'm a girl.
This is not a very honest attitude.
So little rice for me sad

I will not purchase there for some time. huffy
