Yummy Teochew porridge  Smile Nov 14, 2012

Located at a rather obscure corner, this teochew porridge stall is very popular, known for its low prices and good quality food! This serving for two cost less than $10. There is a wide range of dishes for people to choose. THe vegetables are stir fried fresh and served piping hot. The seasoning was done just right and is not too salty. The highlight of this shop is its rich and thick porridge. The porridge is not watery and is boiled really well and the grains of rice can be tasted. One of the best porridge stalls and highly recommended to eat at any times of the day!! :chopsticbowlk:lol

Spending per head: Approximately $5

Famous for its chicken wings, this dish is popular amongst people of all ages. I decided to try them since I was shopping for furniture. The chicken wings lived up to its name as the chicken were deep fried but not too oily, The chicken were succulent and really juicy! The chicken was marinated just right and is not too salty and can be eaten as a snack alone. Though it is yummy it shouldn’t be consumed too often because it is fried but overall a really nice afternoon treat!

Yummy Yam Pie!  Smile Jul 30, 2012

Sold at $1.30 each, this yam pie is one of my favourite snack from Old Chang Kee. The snack is fun size and not too filling and good if you need to much on something or want to eat something that will not spoil your dinner appetite. The yam filling is creamy and burst in your mouth once you sink your teeth into the pie. The crust is crispy and not too oily and goes well the yam filling in it/ The yam filling is not too sweet and not too oily and I liked it a lot tongue

Yummy Beef Kimchi Soup! Smile Jul 30, 2012

This bowl of beef kimchi soup is served with a bowl of rice and the beef slices are served raw and you can slightly boil it or eat it raw depending on your preference! The beef slices are quite a few and are fresh and juicy. The beef slices are sliced neatly and blends well with the kimchi soup base. The soup also has bean sprouts and mushrooms that comes with and these adds flavour and makes the soup base sweeter. The kimchi soup base is not too salty and not too spicy and goes well with rice. Overall a filling meal that is very delicious! tonguelol

Yummy Western food!  Smile Jul 30, 2012

This set is called crazy horse which serves grilled chicken, dory fish and fried prawn with mushroom sauce. The grilled chicken is really succulent and well cooked and it doesn't have too much fats which makes it really easy to chew. As for the dory fish I found it quite fresh and it has bits of pepper sprinkled over it to heighten the overall taste of the dory fish. As for the fried prawns, it was dipped in flour before deep frying it and is really crispy and fresh. The mushroom sauce was a little salty but tasted well with the prawns. The broccoli and sweet corn was boiled and crunchy.

You will just need to add another $5 or so to upgrade your meal to get a salad, mushroom soup and drink that could be topped up to complete your meal! The salad is made fresh and has a few hot dogs, vegetables and sauce. The sauce was a little salty but overall not too bad. The salad is refreshing and the tomatoes were juicy. Highly recommended for all to try! lol
