Tang Yuan in ginger soup  OK Jun 14, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Desserts and Cakes

For $2.80 per bowl, each tang yuan soup is served with the soup base and 5 balls of tang yuan (peanut and sesame stuffed).
The ginger base soup has a bland ginger taste and not as strong as I would hope it to be. The tuan yuan skin is soft and easy to chew and a burst of peanuts/sesame with each bite. The filling of the tang yuan is not too sweet and hence I would recommend the tang yuan for people who like desserts. Apart from the small serving, soup base and price, the tang yuan are still worth to try

Healthy Spinach Bread  OK Jun 14, 2012   (Related Review)

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Bakery | Kids-Friendly

Sold at $1.60 a loaf (4 slices), this bread has been touted as being trans-fat free and healthy. Besides this spinach flavour bread there is also the carrot flavoured ones. The colour of the bread is pretty nice and the bread taste bland probably due to it being healthier. The bread however lacks the spinach taste and if it wasn't told that it was spinach, one would not be able to tell by its taste. Recommended to spread butter lightly over the bread for a better taste smile

Chicken Pie  OK Jun 14, 2012
Categories : Bakery | Halal

Polar's chicken pies are one of the more popular flavours and each costs around 2 dollars. The crust is a little crispy and I would encourage you to lightly heat up the pie before consumption as it taste a lot better. The pie is not too large in size and hence perfect for a daytime snack. The pie is stuffed with chicken, potatoes, bits of carrots and in general taste pleasing. the chicken is not too salty and is generally still pleasant to eat though not the best I have eaten

BBQ Pork wanton noodle  OK Jun 14, 2012
Categories : Hawker Centre

This stall is popular and known for its wanton noodle and dumpling soup. The bbq pork is made fresh and hence hihgly popular amongst wanton noodle lovers. Its noodles are cooked well and are not too springy and hard to chew nor are they too soft. The bbq meat smells and taste fragrant and is made up mainly of lean meat and hence not too hard to chew or swallow. The sauce for the noodle is however a little too sweet and it would have been better if it was less sweet. the small bowl of soup that accompanies the noodle is also a little too salty. But overall not too bad a stall, worth trying chopstick

Fried Rice  OK Jun 14, 2012
Categories : Noodles

For $3.50, this plate of fried rice is served hot with small bits of char siew, veg and small prawns. The rice smells fragrant when served. However, I found the portion a little too small and the rice taste slightly too sweet and salty. As for the ingredients given, there a few small visible pieces but generally quite few to name. Perhaps for those who woul like to try this stall you can consider the horfun or hokkien mee or desserts which are slightly more popular. mad
