Grass Jelly with Atapchee! Cry Aug 22, 2010

Categories : Hawker Centre

Was there with hungry wifey after attending an exhibition in Marina Bay Sands.

As tempted with the Rochor Bean Curb but decided to try something more cooling - Grass Jelly with Atapchee.

This is the first time I have seen Atapchee in Grass Jelly.

Love only Atapchee though. Reason being the Grass Jelly is not cold at all! The vendor actually went to add ice into the dessert knowing that it is not cold. Can you imagine that? The cold ice will melting and dilute the dessert making the tasty blend.

Hence next time we are going to try only the bean curb, only if its cold.

Grab a Shilin Chicken Steak as snack while we shops.

I remember the hoo-ahh when Shilin stormed the entire island.
However, years later, it seems like it has lost her touch.
The chicken is still tasteless with the tons of seasonings that was added.
What happened?
Cost-cutting?
Anyway the chicken is tatseless and I threw is away after a few bites.
Never ever am i going to eat this again.huffy

Tried their selection of meat and nothing special.
Ordered both white and roast chicken.
Their rice is definitely not as fragrant as Boon Tong Kee.
Their chicken is a little hard and dry. Not to try unless you have no other choice.

Was there for lunch one day and tried their Gong Bao Chicken Set.
It serves in a hot pot with fair amount of chicken. However, I find the sauce to be a little salty and thick. Got to go with white rice. The chicken is a little overcook as it is dry and hard.

Overall, average with nothing surprising.

An ice-cream place is still an ice-cream place. Nothing more.

Swensen is excellent in their ice-cream but average on the other foods.

The Yoghurt is normal. Nice and re-freshing but forgettable.

The clam chowder is better especially when it is serve is a bun. The clam chowder is tasy with cut carrots inside. But i dislike the shoggy bun. sad
