Good and Cheap Japanese Ramen Smile Nov 18, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Ajisen provides good and cheap Japanese Ramen.
A set cost about S$13 and it comes with a side dish and drinks on top of a huge bowl of ramen. What a steal! smile

I like their Seafood Tom Yam Ramen. Its for those who can take the spice. It is spciy and sour and definitely goes well with ramen. It is has also ample seafood inside the huge bowl. I finished the whole bowl of tom yam soup.

The fried squid(side dish) is small but enough for one. You can really taste the squid inside the fried flour. Hot and crispy.

Sushi Bar Smile Sep 10, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

This time I decided to try their sushi bar.

With a price range of S$1.99(colored plates) to S$3.99(pink plates) to S$5.99(red plates), I was overwhelmed with their variety.

First, I had the Kani Salad Sushi(S$1.99). Not as fresh and cold as I was expecting but the topping is overwhelming.

Next was Fried Hotate(S$1.99). This is excellent as it was served hot. The layer of fish fillet goes well with the usual mayo topping.

The Lobster Salad Combo(S$3.99) is great! It has salad, lobster strips, lobster roes all wrap with the egg skin. Think it is worth the price.
I will return with more photos and reviews

Good expensive chips Smile Sep 04, 2010

One of the best chips I have ever tasted!
The Royce Chocolate Potato Chip is filled with high quality chips with a layer of white premium chocolate.

It is a delightful mix of salty and sweet taste !
As the layer of choclate is only on one side, as you bite the chips you will taste the salty side of the chips, followed by the sweet chocolate after-taste. Excellent!

However, it is definitely expensive S$15.

Spicy Thai Food Smile Jul 29, 2010
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Halal

The search for the best Thai food in SG continues.

We ordered
1) Seafood Tom Yam (S$7.50)
2) Chicken Wings (S$7.50)
3) Kang Kong (S$6.90)

The Tom Yam is more spicy than sour but the the seafood is fresh even though there are only 3 prawns

The Chicken wings are tasty and also goes very well with the sweet-sour sauce. 24 pcs a plate is more than enough for both of us.

The Kang Kong came in a mountain on a plate. It is very spicy and tasty. Got to go with rice to reduce the spice level

Verdict: My vote still goes to Thai Accent..

Japanese Ice Cream OK Jul 29, 2010   (Related Review)

Categories : Japanese | Food Court | Steaks and Grills

Was passing by the same outlet and tempted by the variety of ice cream they offer.

Have tried the usual Japanese Green Tea Flavor elsewhere hence decided to give a chance to convenice me their is the best in SG.

Comes in a cup, the cream is very rich in milk and you can feel the thick layers of cream melting on your tongue.
Spread on the cream is the sweet greet tea powder. A mix of the two creates a long and cool aftertaste. Nice smile It can be quite filling as well.

Verdict: Not the best I have tased but its one of the better ones.
Maybe I should try their other two flavors next time - Caramel and Black Seasame.
