Chili's Smile Aug 09, 2012

Categories : American | Restaurant | Steaks and Grills

I was pass by this restaurant without giving it a second glance because I felt that I wouldn't know how to apprehend and appreciate the food there until one day my friend suggested going there for dinner.

When we reached there it was still fairly empty as it was slightly earlier than dinner time, but when we left it was almost full house. This meant that chili's was actually quite popular and I was a fool not to appreciate it because the food was just plain awesome! lol

When we went in, we were a given a high table seat which was quite comfy and in addition we were sitting just beside the skating rink. Looking at people skate while we enjoy our food one of the simple pleasure in life.

We were told that they have a 1-for-1 margarita promotion that day. My friend and I decided to give it a try. This was my first time drinking margarita and I liked it. It had a fruity taste of mango and the alcohol level wasn't very high too.
We ordered a bottomless tostada chips which was recommended by my friend. According to her, it is a must order starter. I agree with her! The chips was crispy and not salty and when eaten together with the salsa sauce the sour and tangy taste of salsa complemented the bland chips well. I ordered Blazin Burger which was 4 mini beef burgers served together with onion ring, homestyle fries and tartar sauce. The beef was grilled well and juicy, the onion rings were dulcet and the fries were thick and juicy. Definitely one of the better fries I ever had. My friend ordered Southern Smokehouse burger and the beef was grilled to medium rare. Juicy and tender. YUMM...

Overall, I will definitely visit Chili's again. They really have scrumptious food, comfy environment and they do not charge sevice charge -depending on the food you order- even though they have a great service! smile Even though the price may be a little expensive, but it was all worth it smile

Aston's for dinner!  Smile Mar 05, 2013

Aston's is addictive, the food is so good and cheap that I can't stop but to always crave for it.

This time round, I had chicken teriyaki with veggie and onion rings as the sides. Initially, I thought the teriyaki will be very salty but in fact I was totally wrong! The teriyaki sauce wasn't very salty and the flavour of teriyaki sauce was quite intense too. The chicken was full of moisture and cooked to perfection. The sides were delicious too because since we get to choose our sides from a wide range I chose those I love the most.

Christmas Eve lunch!  Smile Dec 24, 2012
Categories : Spanish | Italian | High Tea

I'd been there once with my mum and the food was pleasant. Hence, we decided to head there for our lunch again.
We went there during the period where they offer lunch set meal from 1100-1400.
The lunch set meal includes soup of the day, the main course and choice of tea with prices starting from 12.90 bucks.

I tried a new item on the menu which was green tea spaghetti with shrimp. Yes, it is green tea flavoured spaghetti. I'm a lover of green tea and decided to gave it a try.
The soup of the day was pumpkin soup. I love pumpkin soup but the pumpkin was disappointing. I couldn't taste the richness and sweetness of pumpkin.
When the dish arrived, I was quite skeptical about it. The green coloured spaghetti looked interesting and it was served with fried mushroom, beef patty and a salad which consist of ham, pineapple and cucumber on the side.

My first bite literally blew my mind away. I can really taste the green tea!!! lol And it didn't taste weird at all. Like as though the dish was designed this way, nothing is wrong with it.
Even though I'm really not a fan of cream based spaghetti, this is really different. I love this dish. Not to mention that the sides were delicious as well. This set meal cost $15.90
I'm really very pleased with this dish because green tea normally points toward sweets, but this time round, I learnt that green tea fits perfectly well with savoury too. ^^

Brunch for dinner :)  Smile Aug 04, 2012

Categories : American | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Brunch

I came across a magazine which did a short write up for Eggs and Berries and thought if I make a trip to the East I would definitely visit it. The day really did come and the restaurant was quite conspicuous in Changi City Point mall and I didn't even spend the effort to look for it. A big plus point, I hate looking for stores in the malls especially in unfamiliar mall :<
I was awed and fascinated with the interior, pink striped chairs with white background! It was my first time in such a chic restaurant and I felt "atas" sitting in the restaurant itself. lol

I thought Eggs and Berries only specialised in all day brunch because the magazine recommended their Eggs Benedict's. But I was quite surprised that they actually have a huge array of choices and the all-day-breakfast is just a small part of the menu. Nevertheless, I wanted to try their breakfast menu even though the other choices looked tempting too. I ordered Sweet Brioche French toast with Sausages and scrambled egg which cost $13.80.
The portion was quite big and filling. I love all the components of the dish! They were really just that yummy that I don't know how to describe it with words, one of the best part was that they provide 3 different syrups -maple,strawberry,chocolate- for the pancakes that came with it. All the syrups tasted great! lol Especially the chocolate syrup, you can just eat it alone without any food to go along with it! ^^
Given the choice, I will definitely go back again. But I would choose to order the pancakes instead. I would love to spam the pancakes with all 3 syrups tongue

However, even though the food was good it would taste better if they serve it hot. :/ Our food took a while to come and it was a little cold when it arrived...

Gelato!  Smile Jul 25, 2012

Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

Exams are around the corner which means a stressful *pulls hair* period is coming soon.
With so much to study and work to handle, a nice scoop of ice-cream will come in handy to release some stress built up.

Gelateria Italia serves one of the better ice-cream in Singapore. smile It is difficult for me to resist the temptations of the delicious ice-cream when I passed by them. I bought a double scoop which cost $7.90 and $4.90 for a single scoop. It is a bit costly, but rest assured that the ice-cream is worthy of the price given the big portion of a scoop and how heavenly it tasted.

I ordered dark rocher and pistachio. Dark rocher tasted heavenly, as I put the rich decadent ice-cream in my mouth I can feel that the ice-cream served it purpose - relieving of stress. smile I love dark chocolate ice-cream, in addition, there were really chunks of ferrero rocher chocolate in it. Two thumbs up!
The pistachio flavour was good too~ Taste of pistachio was quite strong and thick.
