Hong Kong Food. Smile Jul 14, 2012

Canton Paradise serves hong kong dishes and all day dim sum. The interior was classy and oriental. It is definitely a good place for catch up with friends after a long day at work or a place to indulge in sumptuous food after a tiring day.

I went there with my parents to have our dinner. I ordered the recommended noodles dish - Jumbo Prawn Wanton Noodles. As the name suggests, the prawn dumplings were quite big and the prawns were succulent and juicy. YUMZ..lol The soup and noodles were not too oily and were light and flavoursome. It fitted my palate well.
Other than the wanton noodles, we ordered some dim sum too. They include carrot cake, osmanthus chestnut cake and deep fried prawn and mango - I kinda forgotten the name >< -.
The carrot cake and osmanthus chestnut were very tasty. Not a disappointment at all. However, the deep fried prawn and mango was a total disaster. I'm not a fan of mayonnaise at all when I bit it the mayonnaise came gushing into my mouth. The taste mayonnaise was very strong and sort of destroyed my mood for good food. Thinking of it upsets my appetite, I really dislike mayonnaise sad But for mayonnaise fans, do give it a try. The dish actually tasted quite good.

CAKES!  Smile Jul 03, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Bakery

My father bought these delicious looking cakes from yamazaki and I can't wait to try them! All of them looked so yummy and delicious. Since my father bought them, I did not know the flavours of each of the cake and hence I chose one at randomly. My first bite of the cake was just totally mind-blowing. The cake was very soft and it melted in my mouth. The flavour of the cake dispersed slowly in my palate and I tasted a light cheese flavour. The cheese flavour was not very intense and overwhelming. It was just right.

2 thumbs up! smile

First experience with TDS Smile Jun 22, 2012

I'm a huge ice-cream lover and my aim is to look for the best ice-cream parlor in Singapore! lol

I was about to drool while reading about the great food reviews about The Daily Scoop and I can't wait to try it! The chance finally came when I was at Holland Village and Chip Bee Gardens was just a stone throw away from Holland Village.

I was looking forward to try out ginger crumble and green with red bean - I'm a green tea fantongue - but apparently, both flavours were unavailable and I was quite disappointed sad
Hence, I tried Strawberry Shortcake and Simply Chocolate instead. A double scoop cost $5.60.
Strawberry Shortcake was fit for my palate as it tasted a little sour and was tangy and the shortcake added some mouth-feel to the ice-cream smile I felt as though I was eating real strawberries instead of an artificially flavoured strawberry ice-cream.
Simply chocolate is actually dark chocolate ice-cream, if you're a fan of dark chocolate do give it a try smile The bitterness of the chocolate was just right and not too sweet too~ lol

Given a choice, I would visit The Daily Scoop again to try out other flavours and also their waffles which are actually made on the spot.

Lunch @ Food for Thoughts  Smile Apr 04, 2013

I had read a lot of reviews about this cafe and finally I'm here to judge for myself.

I ordered full works to share with my friend. I love all the components of Full Works especially the mushrooms, hashbrown and scrambled eggs. Mushrooms were juicy flavoursome, hashbrown was round, cute and crunchy and the scrambled eggs were fluffy. But be warn that unless you have a big appetite Full Works is better to be shared because the portion is astonishing!

Red velvet cake is the must order! It is da bomb! One of the best red velvet cake I have eaten so far! Thick and rich in chocolate.
We order butterscotch crumble and cheese baked brownie. Both were fabulous~ These desserts and cakes were really so good that we can't stop scraping them off the plate even though we were full from the mains.

A cosy cafe for catching up with friends, I bet I will come here again smile

Dinner @ the handburger  Smile Apr 04, 2013

Categories : American | Restaurant | Burgers and Sandwiches

It has been a while since my last visit to The Handburger. I'm glad that the standard of the food didn't differ much from what I remembered.

I had pulled pork burger -$12- with fries. The pulled pork was tender and flavoursome although it is a little salty but I think the saltiness is still acceptable when eaten together with the bun.
Thick cut fries are my all time favourite and nothing could go wrong with thick cut fries. Crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Coupled with tomato sauce, best combination ever.
