Lone Econ Rice Stall OK Apr 19, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre

The stall front is small so dishes are stacked on different shelves. Anyway for just $3, i got long beans, scrambled eggs, lean pork slices and a tau pok. Its not common that you can still get such pricing at a prime area like adam road. I like the no frills, good selection of veges and that "very femine" stall helper hahaha. Two customers before me was even joking with him about coming to visit him specially. Quality of food nothing much to shout about but its the only economical rice stall here.

Quiet Coffeeshop OK Apr 18, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

not sure is it related to Ah Lam's Abalone Soup at race course road, this is a coffeeshop style set up. offering various combination of prawn noodles, big or normal sized prawns. I ordered the $5 soup version with pork ribs added. 4 prawns were given with i think 3 pieces of pork ribs. Though not a bad eat, i can't help but to feel the soup could have been so much better, just not enough kick smile

Breakfast Joint OK Apr 11, 2013

Selling a variety of roasted meat, kwee heng also sells braised duck. Tried their kway teow dry. Food was served on a styrofoam plate which turns me off a little, i like my food in a proper plate for dining in. Ingredients were pretty bare with only the duck meat, kway teow, lettuce and coriander. Tastewise its not too bad though but the dark color soup definitely needs more flavour enhancement.

Indian BBQ Hotplate? OK Apr 08, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Zi Char

Ordered some dishes to share during supper. Stingray for $12, Kang kong for $6 and Sotong for $12, Hotplate toufu for $10. I must say the chilli taste very different from normal hotplate stalls, in fact it taste a little more indian style than normal. The taste was very obvious for the sotong. THis taste may not appeal to all i must say, the stingray came well received and was swept clean within minutes by my friends. Overall would rate this stall very average. Its interesting they actually have clams in the hotplate toufu though but toufu itself very little was given.

Once bitten twice shy OK Apr 04, 2013

Delifrance is venturing into more restaurant dining concept with this outlet serving more cooked food item like pasta and western cuisine. At this outlet, you order your food at the counter, collect your own cutleries and wait to tbe served. That is one area i dun like coz spending up to $40+ per 2 pax yet i have to self service and order at the counter. But i must say its the only not-so-crowded place here during lunch time. I ordered the lamb shank, presentation wasn't the best with it looking a lot like lamb stew with its dull color. Didn't find it very nice, felt more like it was a microwave food. But again i do not know commonly how lamb shank is prepared. Will i try it again, probably not smile
