Long Queue OK Jun 17, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

This stall is helmed by 2 brothers working hand-in-hand...but they dun talk much...going along the noodle preparation by reading the indicators on the bowl, either with strand of noodle, or even using bottle caps to indicate the use of ketchup etc. Was here for supper on a saturday and was attracted by the queue formed. Some early impression includes the queue is formed due to the speed of work, the owners like to take it easy. Ordered the dry mee kia, was given around 5 slices of half sliced prawns, fish cake and some lean pork. Overall i would say not a bad eat but i've had better. The noodles were well cooked but the soup does not pack any punch IMO. My friend ordered prawn noodle from another stall and it was comparable as well. Price way there are standard 2 options, $3 or $4.

The tang hoon is cooked till soft and very easy to eat. The rest of the items such as beancurd skin and chicken cutlets are deep-fried till crispy. Overall it is still an ok meal.

The entire selection consisted of about 20 over items and everyone fully replenished, unlike certain stalls that have empty food trays at their display.

Some of the items i chose were enoki mushroom, fried hard-boiled egg, crabstick, taupok, bitter gourd with fish paste, meatball, wanton, toufu and white cabbage.

Remember how i was supposed to eat healthy? Well, i ended up being tempted by their laksa gravy. So i opted for that.

I had this yong tau foo sometime back and it was nice. Every served ingredients is fresh and hand made by themselves. The soup is tasty and not a lot of msg has been added. I feel that it is worth of money. The location is busty with people most of the time so to avoid the long queue, it is best not to come by during peak lunch or dinner hours. the price is reasonable too. good

Well worth the $4.25 Smile Jun 03, 2013

Categories : Hainanese | Restaurant | Chicken Rice

Cost of 1 person portion for takeaway is $4.25 ($4 + gst). What you get is the white broiled chicken, some achar, white rice and funnily a meatball. As i'm always in this neighborhood for my weekly games, i walked all the way from spans jom clubhouse out to this BKT branch which is around 5min fast walk, but it was well worth it. Packed in a customized BTK plastic takeaway box, the dish is also labelled with its time of preparation and advisory of when to consume it by (nice one, hardly see others following suit). I was lucky to be given the chicken wing set, i must say i was delighted by its non fattiness yet well cooked and juicy chicken flesh. The accompany soy sauce was a tad too salty though but it still goes well with the chicken but a little overkill for the rice. The rice was also very fragrant. Chilli sauce was packed in sachet style . Anyway for take away, you go straight to the LHS unit, often perceived as the kitchen/preparation area and order at the cashier there.
