Bean Sauce Beef Noodle Cry Jul 08, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Seafood | Zi Char

Ordered the $5 Bean Sauce Beef Noodle, first I must say it did not smell as nice when it arrived. The beef was also not tender enough and made biting a little tough. The sauce given was more than enough though. have taste a lot more better quality ones than this stall. Anyway you place your order at their counter and wait to get served after telling them your table number. This food court here is quite quiet and it serves mainly the working staffs from the nearby industrial areas.

Not for peanut soup Cry Jul 08, 2013

Tried the Lotus Root and Peanut Soup. Conclude that they are not such soup specialty. The soup tastes bland, even the color itself looks a little too light, sure signs of lack of effort to enhance the soup flavor. it does not taste of quality ingredients also. The lotus root and peanut was all not cooked long enough. The soup cost $4. Maybe I should stick to the speciality of turtle soup next time.

Looks Good but Lacking in Taste Cry Jun 18, 2013

Ordered the 香底米粉, its like the beehoon version of crispy seafood noodles. Looks wise can't fault it much, seems to have most of the standard ingredients like prawn, chye sim, pork, sotong, egg white etc. But in the taste department, i felt it lacking quite a bit, it was like it was just half way there, the sauce gravy is a little too bland for my liking. This ci char dish cost me $4.50.

Could have been better Cry Jun 17, 2013

Categories : Malay | Hawker Centre | Halal

$14 for 20 satay is considered one of the pricier offerings for food court / hawker centre satay. I ordered 10 chicken and 10 beef satay each. You place your order with the stalls and proceed to find your own seat.

I was disappointed with the taste, the meat itself does not taste freshly grilled, doesn't have that bite feel to it. Also the peanut sauce was below average, cooked in a huge rice cooker, it certainly does not have the smell of pineapple in abundance or peanut. The satay was accompanied with a bit of cucumber and onion. Overall a disappointing eat.

The place had a nice concept with the small table and low stools, alfresco style, but I felt it could do better with a little more ventilation like maybe sheltered fans etc. When we were there, there was no wind at all and it was getting a little uncomfortable to sit around.

Lau Pa Sat still come across to me more of THE satay place to go.

First and Last Time Cry Aug 16, 2012
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Buffet | Korean BBQ

Use 2 vouchers on National Day and have to top up $5 each as it was a public holiday.

First impression was 'such a nice air-con environment for a bbq+steamboat combination. The chair was a round metal bin complete with a cushion seat, customers can keep their belongings in the metal bin while having their meal. (Must remember to take)

Food variety was so so, meat colour was dull and taste bad. the only thing i enjoyed was the steamboat, and also the korean pancake + the barley was nice.

My hair and shirt was stink of the bbq smell after the meal and I strongly recommend people not to have a nice bath before visiting the place.

Overall, will not visit the place again, can get a better deal with the amount i have paid.
