Spicy and Hot OK Dec 12, 2012

Categories : Bars/Lounges | Pasta

First visit to the place with a $40 groupon voucher, order 4 dishes which cost $40 bucks and top up $1 for 2 ice water.
As it was raining, the outdoor wooden seat was wet and we were instead place at a pavilion with zi-char style round table and plastic chair.

We ordered cheese stick, fried mushroom, topshell and chix set which includes fries, nugget, chicken wing and cheese ball.

The topshell was really spicy and really love it. The rest was normal fried finger food, but the cheese ball was the killer, it was filled with cheese and a hard bite on the cheese ball will fill ur whole mouth with the cheese sauce.

Oh and we actually SMS the server to serve us chili as they were far away from us.
Will visit again.

First Time OK Sep 10, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Had my family dinner at Grandma's as my mum likes curry fish head and she went once and feedback from her was not bad. And it was raining cats and dogs so decided to have our meal indoor.
Firstly, have to comment on the carpark facility, its forever long queue and its abit frustrating when you are hungry and the queue is not moving.huffy And not many people know that there are actually other entrance into the carpark, but they do provide complimentary valet parking when you make any spending at the shopping centre. The valet parking was having good business actually. Ok, back to the main topic.

The restaurant was not packed even during dinner time, we were ushered to a table of 4 just infront of the kitchen and we requested to change table as they are other good seats around. Customer service was not up to expectation, we asked for 4 chilli sauce separately and they only served us 1 so we have to asked again. Look through the menu and decided to order 1 curry fish head, (can chose either asham or curry), 1 sambal potato leaves (my favourite), 1 tahu goreng, 1 niaog heong and 1 sambal petai (not my kind of food).

The food arrives 10-15 mins later, portion was so-so, Curry fish head was disappointing, taste diluted and not hot enough. Rest of the dishes was ok, not too bad. While the waitress was clearing our plates, she overhead our conversation commenting on the curry fish head, she walked back to us and poiletly ask us for our feedback for the food.
Effort was there. The bill was $86 for a meal of 4.

porridge only not rice Smile Nov 04, 2013

Take note this stall does not sell rice but only porridge option. For $18.80, i shared half a chicken and a huge plate of raw fish yu sheng with my parents. The porridge is the more watery non gluey type but the grains have been cooked long so its soft to the the bite. The way i like to consume the food is to dip the chicken into the piping hot porridge then eat it. You can also do likewise to the raw fish. But the raw fish sauce combination is the winner. It has simple ingredients, crispy cracker, carrot floss, ginger, scallion and topped with squeezed lime juice, its a perfect compliment to the porridge. The chicken is not the small kampung ones but big and meaty. Highly recommended. The accompanying chilli sauce is slightly to the spicier side. Few stalls away i think is the sister operating a chicken rice stall but gossip says they are loggerheads.

$13 only Smile Oct 31, 2013

always have an impression that steamed fish usually cost above $20, i was terribly wrong especially when this hawker centre has a few stalls which specialize selling this steamed fish head dish for a mere $13. Its the perfect fish lover dish i must say. I chose the teochew bean paste style, the gravy goes very well with the fish and plain rice. But i do realized that this fish is probably a clear water bred fish due to a litle mud taste in it. But still it was all good. Its served on a metal plates. fish type is usually song yu tou. To find this stall just look out for the 2 units with blue signage.

Save on the parking Smile Oct 31, 2013

quiet place to have lunch, not crowded as its not a good location. The way to go about here is to order at the stall front then pay at the counter whee you will be asked for your drinks order as well. They seem to offer a good selection of nasi padang dishes. i chose the fried chicken which was nice and not too oily. Also had fried egg and green beans. And ordered teh bing. It works out to be $8 actually but i'm not complaining ,the food is pretty good and do remember to ask for the sambal chilli which is a must . The oher plus point is you can just park beside the stall while looking out for fatimah. They seem to have one outlet in malaysia as well.
