: Rock & Ash  OK Jul 02, 2012

Categories : American | Café

What make Rock & Ash Cafe unique is its specially made to order crispy fries and wide selection of sweet, savoury and spicy homemade dips. The cripsy fries come in 3 sizes at the price of $3.90, $4.90 and $5.90.

I had the Crispy Fries with Power Garlic Mayo dip. The garlic taste from the dip was strong but not over powering. It actually is a good combination. The fries were good and I can feel that there were thoughts into the size of the fries so that it can be accompanied with the dip.

I also like the selection of burgers available at the cafe. After much consideration, I settled for the Minty Yogurt Lamb Burger since I don't usually find lamb burger being sold at most cafe. The Minty Yogurt Lamb Burger came with fries on the side too. The size of the burger was just right and can be easily handled with both hands. The lamb patty was nice with some yogurt sauce on top of it.

Yong He Eating House  OK Jul 02, 2012

Categories : Coffeeshop

When you mentioned 永和豆浆油条大王 probably a lot of people will know where it is. It has exactly moved further down the road to a new location at Lorong 27A from Lorong 9.

I do not like to eat beancurd with sugar syrup. I find it too sweet. I prefer beancurd with soya bean drink which I think is the right balance to go with the silky smooth beancurd.

The Youtiao (油条) seems bigger than others. It was quite oily but crispy and nice. The other reason I like my beancurd with soya bean drink because I can dip the Youtiao into it. I like soaking my Youtiao (油条) in the soya bean drink before eating it.

At Yong He (永和), they also sell Taiwanese snacks. The Shao Bing (烧饼) with Egg is one of my favourite.

Cheap Food OK Jul 02, 2012

The restaurant was very crowded during my visit. It seems like its value for money concept is very popular with the teenagers. They were so busy that I had to wait for a good 10 minutes before someone came to take my order.

The Mushroom Soup was quite good, thick and creamy. The Chicken Wings were my favourite. The seasoning for the marination was pretty good. The mains however were only so so only but definitely value for money. No wonder it is such a hit with teenagers.

Steak OK Jul 01, 2012

If you are looking for a good steak, you can probably consider Outback Steak House located at Millenia Walk. We ordered a plate of Onions Rings to share. The onions very really good! The sweetness from the onion rings and the crisp from the batter was goody.

The ribeyes cames with sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The sides were rather pedestrians. However the meat itself was tender and juicy.

The Outback Special also cames with the same sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The meat itself unfortunately was a bit tough and dry.

Skinny Plaza OK Jun 29, 2012

Categories : Restaurant | Pasta | Kids-Friendly

Getting discounted deals is the latest trend in Singapore. I got myself a 50% dining voucher deal at Skinny Pizza since I have not eaten there before and I have read reviews of its thin cracker like crispy pizza crust.

I was quite impressed with the soups. I like soup that is thick and creamy. The soups met my expectation and I enjoyed them.

The pizza got me all excited when I saw the extremely thin and crackery crust of the pizza. The toppings were really good but I was kind of disappointed with the crust. It is more like a papadum and it did not give me the satisfaction of eating a pizza.

The sausage was classic, simple and good.

The pasta tossed in black pepper sauce was tasty and well cooked but unfortunately a bit salty.
