Too many to decide! Smile Oct 29, 2013

There were milkshakes of all sorts of fancy names. celebrity names, that is. And of course i highly doubt they drink milkshakes like i do, in place of dinner. And what did I do? Ask the server.

He recommended one then two and then it came to so many i gave up and told him to narrow it down for me.

It was between a dark chocolate banana and matcha. Guess what he served?

this had a good amount of matcha powder infused into their sweet cream ice cream. if zen was sweet, this would be it! smile

thick and good till the very last sip.

Popped in for some light bites.

portugese egg tarts.
these babies are only yummy piping hot so if they aren't served hot then your dining experience would be much compromised. i liked the filling. it wasn't too sweet and held together well enough for me to share this with my friend.

this prawn and mango rolls had a strong fruity taste. which went well with the savoury wrap and prawns. dip this in mayo. you have to. smile

these spring onion biscuits were very green. much greener than i remembered them to be.
dip these in the vinegar chilli oil dip that's served alongside. and you'll finish them faster than you remembered them being on your table at all!

Not just chocolate. Smile Oct 29, 2013

The plan was for dinner before we indulged in dessert.

Truffled fries ($15)

these thick straight cut fries were tossed in white truffle oil and flavoured with truffle sea salt. a substantial portion served with mayonnaise and bbq sauce. perhaps instead of bbq, they could change it to a curry or wasabi mayonnaise dip.

This was a good starter and as hard as it is to share, these carbo laden deep fried foods taste best when shared. smile

we had a chicken mushroom crepe. we were impressed when it was served. it was bigger than we expected. and every cut had an ample amount of chicken and mushroom. the side salad looked like christmas came early. with a handful of walnuts and dried cranberry giving a much appreciated twist to the usual boring side salads. there was also a lot of cream sauce which was a drawback since it was liberally drizzled and made parts of the crepe too soggy. i'd probably try making this order again with the sauce on the side next time.

and the desserts? we were rushing off for our musical and by the time we were done about 1030pm, the restaurant was already doing closings. sad

And we wanted to eat. but we were too full for anymore solid food.

Always space for a matcha latte though. smile

such a lush green colour. this reminder me of the thunder tea that I had at Suntec. and almost too bright to be consumed.

It was full on flavour of the matcha which really hit the spot. rich in milk and a slight coffee fragrance. ($6.50)

we also tried a small royal milk tea, seeing as how that was also listed as popular. but honestly? it tasted like hk styled milk tea. but yes, the milk was rich and creamy. ($6.50)

till next time for the pastries!

Wen this was served, I was a little unsure if this was my order. It smelt like barbecued pork. But it sure didn't look like it.

the crisp pieces of skin adorned the dish. although it was sinful, cutting it up into smaller pieces was just cutting up my satisfaction levels.

then pork was done perfectly. fork tender, this just fell off into shreds of delicious meat even without the knife.

the pomegranate was a refreshing palate cleanser to all that sinful crackling before the next mouthful.

the thick black sweetened vinegar sauce was a good lift to the flavours but i find eating it as is was enough.

i am very impressed by this. it was a $36++ well spent.
