Do visit here for full review and photos: http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2013/09/okinawan-cuisine-at-nirai-kanai-liang.html

Okinawa has a different history from the rest of Japan - they are descended from the Ryukyu kingdom - and hence their culture, arts, and even their food differs from the rest of the country.

These differences are fairly noticeable when dining in Nirai Kanai. It's located on the basement of Liang Court and the menu is sort of like a Chinese style "rice and dishes" communal dining.

Food's overall quite good - we especially liked the Buta Kakuni / Rafute (Simmered Pork Belly). Free flow Japanese short grain rice, as well! Expect to pay $20-$40 per person depending on how much you order and eat.

Seoul Not-So-Yummy OK Aug 01, 2012

Categories : Korean | Restaurant

Full Review Here: http://bit.ly/MheBne

Seoul Yummy advertises itself as Korean Casual Dining. The prices are certainly pretty reasonable - for $20 nett per pax you get Roasted Barley Tea, a choice of Starter and Main Course, and of course the Korean banchan side dishes.

The food, though, isn't anything fancy. The banchan was lacklustre, and the side & main dishes we chose were all pretty run of the mill taste-wise.

Of course, you can't expect gourmet food at this price range, so if you're craving for Korean cuisine then you should find your hunger satisfied.

Huge Pprtions, Decent food. OK Mar 25, 2015

Categories : American | Steaks and Grills | BBQ

Having come here with high expectations we have to say we were slightly disappointed. Portions are HUGE and in that sense it's really value for money.

However the starters were only decent ("Buffalo Wings" with no vinegar are totally NOT buffalo wings), and the ribs were a little overcooked. The sauce was delicious though!

Jerry's is a nice place to come eat if you're in the area and craving for wings, but not quite worth a long journey. Non-halal (obviously).

Please visit http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2013/05/french-on-budget-at-saveur-far-east.html for full review and pictures!

Saveur aims to offer "affordable, quality French Cuisine." It certainly succeeds on the affordable part, coming in at $20-$30 per pax for a three course meal, but stumbles somewhat to hit "quality" consistently. Of course, with prices as low as they are, we really shouldn't be expecting full blown goose liver and other premium ingredients, and overall we really do feel that Saveur is "decent" for the price.

Some hits were the awesome Salmon Confit (although French purists would scoff at calling anything other than duck and goose a "proper" confit), the starter Saveur Pasta and Foie Gras (duck liver instead of goose).

Among the misses were the Duck Confit (dry and excessively salty) and the Pork Belly (nice flavor but tough chewy skin).

Worth a visit if you're in the general vicinity or if you have a hankering for French cuisine on a budget; but not really worth it to make a trip here on purpose.

For full review and photos please visit http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2015/03/utage-set-dinner-for-two-at-sumiya.html

Although Sumiya brands itself as an izakaya, it really ... isn't. The menu is heavy on sashimi and sushi, with particular emphasis on 'fresh' bluefin tuna. Anyway we decided to just go for the middle road option of three different set menus - the Utage Course at $128 for two:

- Edamame
- Salmon Avocado Monaka
- 5 Kinds of Premium Sashimi
- Char-Grilled Chicken with Crazy Salt
- Double Steamed Rice with Grilled Eel and Salmon Roe
- Snow Crab Clear Soup
- Deep Fry: Shrimp, asparagus and tuna meat
- Dessert of the Day

Food overall was mixed, with some good dishes and some bad. Quantity and variety was spot on for $75/pax but quality was a little lacking.
