BBQ chicken Smile Apr 26, 2011

Categories : Korean | Food Court | BBQ

I have never tried Korean food in food court before as I always have this impression that it will not be as nice. But this stall really prove me wrong. The food will be served on hot plate if you dine in the food court. But I was in a hurry and I packet the food back. Even thought the food was left in the box for a couple of hours before I got the time to eat, the chicken still taste nice when turn cold. It also come with packet of pickles and this taste almost the same which I dine in restaurant. This is really an alternative place to eat cheaper Korean food.

Rich chocolate drink Smile Apr 26, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

Probably this is the only time which I see Ya Kun with lesser crowd on a weekend night as it was near dinner time. I didn't go for my usual toast, instead I decided to try out their chocolate shake. The richness of the the chocolate filled my mouth instantly and yet it is not too sweet. I think the price is rather reasonably given that the amount of chocolate which was put in the drink. I will definitely try it againsmile

Cheese swiss roll Smile Apr 26, 2011

I think Benggawan Solo does attract tourists to patronise them. There are newspaper cuttings in almost all the branches that I went stating that tourists love their pandan cake. I can understand that as I am also a fan of their pandan cake. Actually I wanted to get the pandan cake for that day, but another item caught my attention... pandan swiss roll with cheese. To my surprise, the cheese does go well with the pandan flavoured cake. I had also ordered the ang gu kuah. With these 2 items, it was indeed a satisfying tea break !

Laksa Smile Apr 10, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Hawker Centre | Brunch

This is one of the popular stall that is patronised by parkway shopper. Not only they serve delicious Mee Rebus, they also serve Mee Siam, Laksa, curry chicken, bean curd and chin chow. The very first time when I ordered the Mee Rebus from this stall, my thought was " Is this for two?" The portion is HUGE. So most of the time , you will see people sharing the plate of Mee Rebus and Mee Siam. The quanitiy for Laksa is only meant for one. Not forgetting to mention the bean curd, the texture is smooth. The bean curd simply just dissolved in your mouth.

Toasted bread from Ya Kun Smile Apr 05, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

This Ya Kun Outlet is always packed with people. Be it on a saturaday morning or noon time in the weekdays, the crowd never leaves. I am a fan of bread especially toasted bread. Ya Kun is one of my favourite! The home made Kaya goes well with the slice of half melted butter. And the bread is toasted to a perfect crust which is not too soft or overdone. if you go there often, the auntie might even remember your order when she sees you.
