Jappy Sashimi Smile Jul 19, 2013

The presentation comes in this bento box with 2 levels. One part is the rice and one part is the sashimis. Usually for Chirashi, the fish will already be laid out on top of the rice but at Mitsuba, they decided to go for this unique display. The rice is quite nice, a hint of vinegar so that there is a light sharpness to it. The sashimis are lovely and fresh but it wasn't a "blow me away" standard. But for the price of $28 for a variety of delicious fish plus sides like pickles, soups and fruits, it's very worth it.

Pasta Heaven Smile Jul 16, 2013

This is the Melanzane alla Parmigiana - Oven Baked Layers Eggplant “Parmigiana” Style with
Buffalo Milk Mozzarella Cheese, San Marzano Tomatoes and Fresh Basil. This is super good! It feels very "meaty" and the blacken bits adds alot of flavour to the dish. I greatly enjoy this starter.

This is the Squid Ink Tagliolini with Crab Meat and Asparagus Tips. I feel it is average as it is very "watery" or soupy which waters down the flavour. The first few bites are good but at the end of the meal, it started to feel quite gelat.

My friend had the angel hair pasta with sirloin beef! This is really really good! The tomato based sauce tasted rich and tangy and the beef are really delicious. I think this dish is a special dish of the day so if you do see this on their board, I recommend ordering this.

Shrooms Bite Smile Jul 16, 2013

This is the one dish that I will order when I'm at TCC - the Shroom Bites! Lovely conical pastries stuffed with piping hot mushroom sauce/gravy. Not sure what is the right term. Always buttery and flaky, this is a good side dish to share with your dining companions. It must be eaten hot so don't delay too long after it arrives on your table. If you like some heat, sprinkle some chili powder over it.

Normal Jollibee OK Jul 16, 2013

Finally after months and months of hearing about this place, I tried the famous Jollibee Chicken. The queue is not as crazy as when it first open but do prepare for about 10 - 15 mins of queuing. In a nutshell, I feel it is over-hyped. The skin of the chicken is very tasty and delicious, but the chicken itself was normal. Not as juicy as the chicken from Popeyes. The rice they gave was average and was mainly eaten with the gravy given. I would still prefer to eat at Popeyes.

This is chocolate foodgasm! I wasn't expecting much of the lava cake from a bar place like Fern & Kiwi but this blew me away! Firstly, the dish is lovely to behold. It came in a bowl, relatively deep, and was just calling for all of us to dig in. The centre is perfectly melted and gooey (like all good lava cake should be) and it was so RICH that I had that "close eyes" moment. Pair with fantastic ice cream which greatly helps compliment the richness of this dessert. Very satisfying and thus far one of the best Lava Chocolate Cake I've had. bowl chopstick
