We stopped by Benjamin Browns to have our lunch.

Here's an image of the Bistro, which certainly looks posh and nice.

Even the paper napkin contained a nice design.

I ordered Beef Bolognese Spaghetti, which cost me $16 (before GST & service charge). The spaghetti serving portion was just nice and it came with a lot of minced beef. There were also flakes of cheese placed at the top of the minced beef. The minced beef was tasty and yummy!!! However I felt it could have been better if they provided meatballs for this Beef Bolognese Spaghetti. For a price of $16, I felt the Beef Bolognese Spaghetti was slightly over-priced as it contained only minced meat and the serving portion of the spaghetti was only average .

Here's the receipt of our meals.

Dinner Smile Mar 11, 2013

As I have a craving to eat at Crystal Jade, went to dine by myself at their Jurong Point outlet and ordered their double boiled chicken soup ($8.80) and Spicy dumplings ($6.90). The double boiled chicken soup was very tasty and I simply love the soup and tender chicken meat. The soup taste so smooth and delicious and I would recommend this herbal tasting dish to any chicken soup lover.

I also ordered my all-time favourite spicy dumpling, where they steamed the dumplings before immersing it in a plate of spicy chilli oil. This dish comes with 8 dumplings and each dumpling was huge. I simply love the way they blend the spicy chilli oil together with the dumpling. Not forgetting the spicy chilli oil is also nice enough for me to pour onto my bowl of rice.

My total meal cost around $18.30 and it was certainly valued for money and delicious.

I ordered the Rib Eye Steak and upgrade it to a meal, which gave me an additional cup of Sesame ice-cream and a soft-drink. The Rib Eye Steak itself cost $16.90 and it comes with a bowl of rice. Upgrade to a meal cost $3 for the soft-drink and ice-cream.

The Rib Eye Steak serving portion was very huge and I felt it's well worth my money to order this premium dish from Pepperlunch. The steak was also accompanied with some sweet corns, mashed potato and some long beans. I found the steak juicy and delicious.

The sesame ice-cream tasted nice too, though I am not a huge fan of sesame flavors. In total, my dinner cost me $22.90 and I was satisfied and full after my meal.

I ate Hokkien Mee KL Style for lunch, which cost $6. The thick mee coated with dark soya sauce was served in a mini wok and was well complimented with their nice but spicy balachan chilli. The Hokkien Mee KL Style was indeed delicious, but I felt that the small serving portion coupled with the $6 price tag is not worth your money as there are nicer alternatives at Food Republic which also cost $6 or less. However if you have a craving for the signature Hokkien Mee with its thick mee and dark sauce from Malaysia, you can try it out as it tasted almost similarly close or same as those that were cooked in Malaysia.

Feast with friends OK Mar 11, 2013

Seafood platter

Bought my friends to eat at Swensen Vivo. We ordered a variety of dishes such as the Clayfish pasta, Seafood platter which cost $30 and a few ice-cream dishes. The seafood platter for one person contained squid, 2 tiger prawns, 2 clayfish, 1 dory fish and fried rice and this dish cost $30. Although the seafood platter presentation was nice, I felt the serving portion was simply too little, for the price of $30. Also, it tasted slightly bland.

Only the 3 dishes of ice-creams tasted nice. Also the ice-creams were creatively presented and serving portions were just nice.

I felt Swensens still have lots of room for improvement in terms of their Western cooked food. But when it comes to their ice-creams, the taste and quality is still there.

Also their staffs were not attentive at all. It took us considerable efforts before we can get their attention to get our plates and utensils for us to eat our ice-creams. In the first place, when they serve us the ice-creams, they should have get the plates and utensils for us too but they did not. This is an area that they should look into and improve on it as it certainly impacts the dining experience of their diners.
