Subway! Smile Jun 19, 2013

I have not had Subway for a long time and I was more than happy to have it for lunch when my colleagues suggested it. I ordered the turkey ham sub with wheat bread. I personally find subway's hams to be salty so I omitted the dressing, opting for black ground pepper on my sub instead. The sub comes with quite a lot of veggies as per my request and I love it like that as it helps to balance out the saltiness from the ham. I find that the addition of black pepper to the sub is quite neligible in terms of taste probably because the other flavours are all more prominent. The service is quite fast as there isn't much of a queue when we went.

roast chicken rice OK Jun 16, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Chicken Rice

My colleagues and I went to this food centre for our lunch. It is our first time to the food centre so we just ordered based on our desires instead of ordering based on recommendations. I ordered the roast chicken rice from this stall as I havent had chicken rice for a long time. I forgot to tell the uncle I want the boneless chicken, so there are some parts with bones. Anyway, the rice is quite fragrant and not too oily, so I find it to be less jialat and I didn't have to keep drinking water hours after finishing my lunch. The chicken however was pretty normal tasting. If next time I was back here again, I will probably try out other stalls.

seafood fiesta buffet Smile Jun 16, 2013

I went for the seafood fiesta buffet on Easter day back in March 2013. The buffet spread at the time was very comprehensive, there are a wide range of crabs available cooked in different sauces like chilli, green curry and black pepper. I am not too fond of crabs, so I ate its hot dishes as well as the japanese spread. Even though I am not really a fan of crab, I couldnt help but to try this cute crab pie which was served in a miniature saucer. While the taste was rather weird for me, it is an innovative way to present/cook crabs in a different form. I would recommend the braised sea cucumber with roasted pork for its hot dish which I am sure is frequently on its buffet menu. The sea cucumber is very tasty, and I had multiple servings of it. Another dish that I would recommend is the roast section, the hainanese chicken was rather good, it was tender. For desserts, that day we happened to have nonya kuehs which I enjoyed a lot as well. There are also ice creams and cakes and hot desserts like red bean soup. Service is also good as well, our plates are cleared promptly and water was topped up frequently as well.

nice but not worth ordering OK Jun 14, 2013

As my lunch wasnt very filling, I decided to buy a cup of soya milk. I didn't realise that there is soya milk, so I ordered that instead since I enjoy the flavour of almond. The almond soya milk costs $2, $0.60 more expensive than the regular soya milk. I was actually quite disappointed that the almond flavour comes from just a little scoop of almond essence/almond syrup into the drink, making it like the tiny spoon costs $0.60. I had thought it would be like the fruit soya milk where the drink will be blended with ice or something. The verdict is that while the drink is tasty with the almond flavour, it is not worth $2 since you can easily buy the almond essence yourself and add it to their regular soya milk.

delicious peanut goodness Smile Jun 14, 2013

After my light breakfast, I went to this stall selling pancake to get some pancakes for my mother. I was tempted by the nice fragrant smell of peanuts and decided to buy one peanut pancake for myself as well. The auntie was really generous with the peanuts as I could taste a lot of peanuts in the pancake. The peanuts are the "loose" type in that it is grounded peanuts with sugar. The pancake is also soft and spongy and the exterior parts are rather crispy as well. I would think it is one of the better pancakes that I have had!
