tiny delicious paus Smile Apr 24, 2013

It is my first time buying from tanjong ru pau. I saw many tables having the char siew and tau sa pau, so I decided to follow suit and order one each. The paus are quite tiny so you can easily eat three or more at one go. The char siew is very fragrant and tasty. The char siew is moist and not dry which makes eating it more enjoyable because of the juices. The tau sa pau is also alright, though I would prefer the char siew pau for its savoury taste. Each pau costs $0.70. It can be more expensive depending on which pau you get.

Spending per head: Approximately $2

Papaya Smile Apr 24, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Hawker Centre | Juices

I had a slice of payaya from this fruits stall after my lunch to take back to my office to be consumed later. Apologies about the blurry photo as my hand shook when I took it. There are a lot of different fruits like kiwis, apples and even dragonfruit but I always liked choosing payaya as this stall's papaya is always sweet and firm. As expected, this slice of papaya that I had is not too overly ripe and yet retains its natural sweetness. It is also not too overly soft. Although getting fruits outside can be quite expensive as each slice can be $1 or even more, it is part of a healthy lifestyle for a balanced diet. This slice costs me $1.

Polar curry puff Smile Apr 23, 2013

Categories : Bakery | Halal

If you love your curry puffs to be spicy, I will recommend the curry puff from Polar puffs. The curry puff filling is one of the spicier ones that I have ever had and the filling is basically chicken meat with diced onions cooked in curry paste/spices. The only downside is that the chicken meat is far too minced and there is no bite to it. Otherwise, it would score higher points on taste.

Delicious coffee buns Smile Apr 21, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Bakery | Halal

I was walking by and the aroma of the coffee buns enticed me into queuing and buying a few of the buns back home. The coffee buns smells really good when the person is packing them into the paper bags. I forgot to take a photo of the interior of the bread, but it is quite large like the previous review photos. The bun is crispy on the exterior and soft and fluffy in the interior. The bread is both a combination of sweet and salty (with the butter) with a hint of coffee flavour and it is really good. A perfect match of tastes. Definitely worth having seconds!

Egg Tart Smile Apr 21, 2013

I bought an egg tart from Crystal Jade for my supper as I was feeling a little hungry after work. After 8:30pm, there will be a 20% off storewide for the items in Crystal Jade, so it is quite worth the money. The egg tart is of a crusty type with flaky pastry which will just crumble when you bite into it. The egg tart filling is quite substantial and it is sweet as well, complementing the flaky pastry very well. I ate it cold, but it would taste even better if it is hot.
