Frolick Yogurt Smile Jun 29, 2011

Categories : Café | Ice Cream and Gelato

We bought the special deal $1 e-voucher from InSing.com to try this newly opened Yogurt Kiosk at Bugis Junction.

We were given the option of either Original or Peach flavour for the voucher and chose the latter. The colour of the yogurt looks pinkish, instead of the usual orangy colour and is less creamy in comparision to other yogurt chains. The taste is also rather sweet for a yogurt ice-cream (good for those with a sweet tooth). However, overall the taste is still smooth and light. good as a light, healthy snack.

Bread  Smile Jun 28, 2011

Categories : Bakery

We love this bakery around our neighbour as they sells a great varieties of bread, cakes, cookies etc.

The bread are fresh, soft and fluffy. We always buy the sweet buns in six, which comes in different favours, our favorite being red bean and yam. The fillings are exceptionally generous, you can feel the difference by comparing the weight of the buns as compared to other bakeries.

The bakery serves a wide selection of specialties bread, more popular ones are the chocolate chips bread, chicken floss with sausage and eggs tarts. There is always long queues every weekend mornings for their special baguette bread. The bread is spread with kaya and butter on the spot when you place your order, cut into smaller portions (if you request) before packed and sealed for easy takeaways.

Happy Lemon Experience Smile Jun 27, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Kiosk | Juices

With so many Bubble tea outlets around the vicinity, we decided to try something different - Super Lemon offers new varieties and flavours, exclusive to them only.

As the weather is pretty hot, we opt for their thirst quenching Lemon flavoured range, and bought the Lemon Honey with Seaweed Jelly.

The Seaweed jelly looked like the green coloured version of middle sized pearls, but unlike the bubble pearls, the Seaweed jelly tasted just like normal agar agar.

At Happy Lemon, you don't get to choose the sugar level, but the drinks are prepared to just the "right sweetness" for us, and its definitely worth going back to more.

Chwee Kueh OK Jun 11, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre

Looking for something light for the night, we decided to try this stall of Chwee Kueh.

The steamed rice cakes are served steaming hot, light in taste and non-greasy.
The Chai Poh (preserved radish toppings) though a bit more salty to our liking, blends pretty well with the steamed cake. However, we would have preferred the chai poh to be more chunkier. The chilli are hot and spicy, but not fragrant enough to complement the whole dish.

At a price of 8 pieces for only $2.00, plus the stall gives generous serving of chai poh, it is a really value-for-money meal.

Lor Mee  Smile Jun 11, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Chinese Soup | Brunch

This food stall sells the traditional Fishball, mincemeat Noodles and Lor mee, and our favorite is the Lor Mee with Meatballs which you dun usually find it anywhere else.

The meatballs are made of minced pork, seasoned and deep fried till crispy on the outside while it remains soft in the inside. The Lor Mee gravy is cooked till thick and rich in flavour, which are poured over the cooked noodes and generous amount of meatballs (normally they give around 6 per serving).
The stall also serves good quality black vinegar, and when added with their spicy sambal chilli, really gives a good punch and a satisfying meal.
