Found the local delight when hanging around at Takashimaya, I was surprised there was affordable meal here. Just like normal foodcourt, Food Village was built up by handful stalls with different cuisines. Having longest queue, I insisted good food is worth the wait. Quality guaranteed by cooking one plate then one plate, the chef fried right in front of us. Waiting time was still bearable, staff acted quite fast and friendly service. Menu was put the desk, price ranged from $5.00 up to $8.00, depends on the size and portion.

Stick to the stall, we finally ordered two different dishes. I ordered Char Kway Teow and Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles for him, both were mouth-watering in appearance. Kway Teow was slightly sweet with the darkening sauce added, taste was fragrantly nice. Little smoky, yet it was not overcooked or oily mushy. Ingredients were generously given, mixed well with Kway Teow generally. Sharing the food, I got to try noodle too. Infused into rich starchy gravy, mee on the other hand remained springy. Spicy sambal and dash of lime gave additional mark to overall, heavenly slurping good plate. Perfectly gooey texture, cubes of pork added along also. Simple yet delicious, I actually like two of them. Definitely not overpriced, they were costed $5.00 each.

The finest dessert for finest moment! We have joy at Haagen Dazs, known as the premium ice-cream maker. No matter birthday, wedding even anniversary celebration, special beautifully crafted creations will be done by Haagen Dazs. Huge range of ice cream flavours, extensive Menu was provided always. Comfy ambience with friendly service, it was the good place to chill out and relax.

Stayed our choice on Chocolate Fondue, it celebrated a burst of refreshing flavours and vibrant colours that promise to brighten up our mood together. Fire was burning at the bottom, Choco remained melting liquid condition. Drizzling with the dishes displayed aside, we started our party. Fruits were freshly cut while cookies and biscuits were crunchy, colourful plate was appealing. I prefer to drip ice-cream into the fountain instead of biscuits or fruits, tasty plus creamy indeed. Of course the price was a little steep, yet it worth the value.

As part of my effort to explore Icon Village, I found an affordable Chinese-themed shop – Old Kim Guan. Well-known of home-cooked cuisine, they really lived up their slogan: The Good Old Taste of Home Cooking. Casual-setting for the decoration, both tables and chairs were arranged neatly. Self-service basis, diners have to queue and order, then after that take our own food back to our seat.

I had a mee kia, thin noodles, similar with stir-dried mee as usual. Dashes of minced pork and dried onion on top, the bowl was completely flavourful. What I wanted to emphasize was, the braised meat was fragrantly appetizing especially eating along with springy plain noodles. Slices of fish cake and pieces of lettuce were added inside, the combination was freshly delicious. Portion wise, it was generous and definitely filling for normal lunch. Price was stated on board, only $4.20 for my noodles. Would like to try their curry during next trip, my colleague highly recommended it to me.

Blissful moment when eating breakfast with my dearest, it was just a simple traditional meal though. Toast Box embarked in warm and nostalgic concept, committed an enjoyable experience for diners. Conveniently located at Junction 8, the shop was flooded early in the morning. Classic decoration, the place was comfy spacious and neatly clean. Ordering was done at the counter, we were given a number plate while waiting our food.

Greeted by freshly brewed Milk Tea, I sipped and it was very soothing for my throat. Stirred well, the taste was just nice to drink. Bitten into Kaya Toast, the scrumptious fragrance was burst out at my mouth. Little crusty bread wrapped within, the sweetness of Kaya and the savory of butter was a good combination always. Having to say, the butter was generously thick with Kaya which very moist in between. Half-boiled egg came along with the set too, best eaten while it was still hot. Portion wise, it was completely enough and satisfying. Affordable to dine here, Menu offered at Toast Box was suitable to elderly as well as children.

Christmas season, festive mode spread everywhere. Bustling city area, we were searching target for our dinner. Having heard of many positive comments about Marche recently, we finally stepped into this Countryside feel restaurant. Furniture was mostly made of stacked wooden crates, there was actually a stairway down to seating area. Staff gave us the Marche Guest Card for food-ordering, she gently told us there would be a penalty if we lost our card. Instead of paying cash while placing order, what we need to do was just passing the card to stall holder to swipe. Convenient idea, we paid according to value charged in card only at the end of meal. Self-service basis, we ordered and waited the food to be done at the stall.

It was tough to resist the fragrant from Crepe corner, I opted for Savoury Crepe. Meaty filling with tender Ham wrapped inside, combination was crisp and yummy with slight sweetened outlay. Rosti wise, it was high-recommended for Potato lovers. Pan-fried strips with textured bite, Sausage and dash of sour cream were just nice to match along. Another dish we bought was Pork Knuckles, the plate was too tender to my liking. Portion in Half was enough for two persons, taste was pretty nice. I would not mind going back to Marche actually, although the price maybe a little high yet it still considered affordable and comparable to its standard. Such ambience and food quality, it was definitely worth a try.
