This is the branch of the popular Penang Kitchen from Coronation Plaza. The cafe is nicely decorated with the wall painted in orange and beige colour. It makes the place look bright and cheery. I ordered the Ice Nutmeg and dad ordered the Iced Penang Coffee to go with the food. The Iced Nutmeg drink was very refreshing, and I like it so much that I bought a bottle of the Nutmeg syrup at $6.50 to DIY at home. It is stated in the menu that it aids in digestion and sooth the throat. Dad said his Ice Penang Coffee was very good.

We ordered the Penang Sampler which consist of 2 rolls of Lor Bak and 4 pieces of Belachan Wings. The Lor Bak is better than what we had eaten in the Penang's famous stall. I find the Belachan wings have only a light hint of the taste. I would have preferred stronger Belachan taste.

The Assam Laksa was very good.
It uses the right type of thick rice vermicelli unlike some place I got udon instead. The gravy is thick with lots of fish and not too sour. It is topped with "Hae Ko" (prawn paste), mint leaves, thin slice of cucumber and pineapple. I asked for extra Hae Ko and the waitress gave me another saucer of Hae Ko.

I had a taste of Dad's Penang Char Kway Teow
. The portion is quite big and has bean sprouts, prawn and has the "Wok Hei" taste. It also uses the finer flat rice noodle and it is the white version.

Generally all the dishes we tried are of very high standard and the portion is quite filling. It you want to try many dishes, aim to share the noodle or rice items. Prices are on the high sides but the high quality makes up for it. It is one of the best Penang foods that I have eaten in Singapore so far. Must go back to try Penang Hokkien Prawn Noodle Soup, which I heard is very good.
