Amongst the top 3 curry rice (In my opinion: scissors cut, Henderson and Beo). This version is definitely the spicier of the 3. Merge food is great, aunties that scoops the food are chatty during non peak hours. If you are a stickler for grade "A" cleanliness of the environment then this place is definitely not for you. But if you are "chin cai" abt this kinda thing then the food more than makes up for it.SE tips: if you are alrdy at the area do try the Hokkien mee at the coffee shop next to it.

The wait is dependant n the queue. The dishes to try here is definitely the stewed cabbage and pork chop!!The pork chop is very crispy it's not the meaty type, dunno how they do it..like a snack!!The cabbage is very nice... soft to the max! Another point to note.. getting a seat is quite tough..so best if you have a friend to help you find a seat while you queue

I'm not a Curry Rice Eater when it comes to breakfast meal but I have no choice but to visit them on a early Sunday morning since I wanted to have a taste and verify if it was really good as I was told.
There was already a long queue formed when I was there, I thought that must be real good as who will actually have curry rice in the early morning. Perhaps their taste was really exceptional!

The usual style of a plate of curry png, the messy looking ingredients over the white rice with 3 kinds of sauce that drench them all over with part of them looked as if they were overflowing.
The braised cabbages is also one of the must have items on such plate. Servings were generous with one big scoop of them hidden under the tau pok. They were boiled till softens and was naturally sweet.

For eggs lover, their sunny side up comes with black sauce mixed altogether in the presence of the aromatic gravy.

The must order item for every visit, the crispy pork! What makes them so unique? Their meat was marinated, thinly chopped into fine bits and fried under the burning fire, thus forming its cripsy texture. And together with their signature curry gravy, the taste was fantastic! Uber Yummy!

What's more to say, are you drooling all over now? It's definitely worth the calories, providing a good energy boost that last through out the day. If you are thinking of Scisscors Curry Rice, why not head down to Beo Crescent for a tastebuds test!

The pork chop here is unique in the sense that there is more batter than meat. It is like eating crispy flour-battered crackers. For those who prefer more meat in their pork chop, this might not please their tastebuds though. But, i do like it especially at times when you just can't explain that particular craving for something crispy and... shiok!

I've been patronising this stall since young, as I actually stay at Tiong Bahru Area previously. Although I've moved to Tampines, but I will still go back and patronise this stall at least once per month.

This stall serves great Curry Rice, their curry gravy consists of three different type of gravy. One plate of rice is definitely not enough for those who can take spicy stuffs! Also, some dish to look out for - Pork Chop, Vegetables & Prawns.

Its Pork Chop is very crispy, one of the dishes that almost everyone who patronise this stall will order. As for vegetable lovers, its vegetables is also one of the best sellers. Its vegetables is very soft and with the gravy, its really very delicious. As for its prawn, its battered well, and it has the prawn paste taste, which is quite unique. Also, they do sell other dishes like Squids, Assam Fish, Sunny Side Up, Fishcake and many others. You can order individually or if you're in groups, can order according to how many person you have.

Today, queued for twenty minutes. Bought two pack of rice, one pack with extra pork chop and prawn ($4.90) and the other one with pork chop, sumny side up and vegetables for $3.20. Total $8.10. Just like what I mentioned above, pork chop is very crispy, vegetables is very soft and goes well with the gravy and also, the curry gravy is as per usual - delicious.

For those who loves curry, its definitely worth a try. Just some gentle reminders, its closed on every Wednesday and also, most probably you'll have to queue for 15-20 minutes (off-lunch hours) and up to 45 minutes during lunch hours! But.. Its worth the wait!

Their famous pork chops are on the must-try list of every foodie. Remember to order the Pork Chops separately so that it will not be soaked in the curry sauce. Oh god. This Beo Crescent Curry Rice Pork Chop is indeed crispy! If you prefer your pork chop to be slightly thicker and a little bit more chewy, like Scissors Cut Curry Rice Pork Chops, you may not favour this. But for me, this is what makes their pork chops unique. Beo Crescent Curry Rice pork chop easily found itself into the must-order list for my next visit.

It was a rainy morning. I was there at about 1.30 pm. There was a really long queue of about 15 people right there. This stall has been featured in a TV programme recently. I ordered for a portion of highly recommended braised cabbage, fried pork chops and also the left 2 pieces of Asam fish to go. I paid a total of $9.00 for all. I was also given a packet of curry gravy for taking away.

The curry gravy was a bit too diluted. It did not have the aromatic curry taste as expected. It was rather thin with no distinctive coconut milk to give it the creamy texture. It did not taste like most Chinese curry out there nor like the indian curry as well. It does have a rather slight taste of spices though.

The braised cabbage is highly raved by a food tester on that TV programme. The portion for 2 has been quite a lot. Though braised cabbage is a simple homely dish but doing it well would definitely required a certain level of skill. This one definitely tasted good. I would think this is one of the better braised cabbage so far after eaten at different Hainanese Curry Rice stalls. The cabbage has been braised well to give it the desired softness with light soya sauce.

The fried pork chop is also one of the highly recommended dishes. I did not quite like it though. The thinly sliced pork chop itself has been marinated then deep fried it to give it the crispy texture. As the thickness of these sliced pork was rather thin so the chances of over fried it is rather high. And, it might be so in this case as most of the smaller pieces tasted a bit too hard and rather dry too. I had it with the curry gravy but it did not enhance the taste of the pork chop a bit.

I managed to have the last 2 slices of asam fish. It served with lady finger, tomato and onion. The sourish taste of the sauce was rather distinctive with a minimum level of spiciness. The fish did not taste too fresh though as it got a rather slight bitterness. I suppose the meat might be from the part nearer to the stomach to explain the bitter taste.

So, is it worth the time to queue for it? No. I seriously do not think so though i believe this particular stall has their group of faithful supporters though this is not the best Hainanese Cury Rice in town. And, the only worth recommending dish has to be the braised cabbage.

There are a better one at Tiong Bahru and another good one at Bukit Merah to go for these Hainanese dishes with their signature Hainanese curry gravy.
