Aston has been pretty establised since its arrival. I'm sure most people are familiar with their  concept where you choose the mains and 2 addition sides to make up a meal.My all time favourite is always teriyaki chicken with potato salad and coleslaw. My all time favourite is always teriyaki chicken with potato salad and coleslaw. This time round, i tried the mash potato instead. The sides have always been consistent yet the main has been consistenly saltier as time passes by. I guess salt does enhance the taste but a little lesser may do some good. 

The waiting time was acceptable and service was good. I would recommend this place for a casual meal. For big eaters, i'm sure their portion will not disappoint you.

Came here for a weekday lunch, and we were pretty much the only table that ordered food from Astons and we waited for a good 15-20 minutes. Even though the guy at the cashier was polite and friendly, the wait for the food was terrible.I normally ordered crispy chicken but this time, it was overfried and it was so hard to cut. I have been to several astons and though this is the closest one to me. This is the first time I am visiting them. Unlike other Astons in shopping centers, this is nett priced! No additional service charge. I do not mind walking 2 meters up to the counter to collect my own food and since it is a coffee shop owned by Broadway. The food took a while and my dad was already contemplating getting a $2.50 plate of hainanese chicken rice whilst starving. So minus points on service here. It was 1130am and we were one of the 5 customers waiting for our food and nothing was coming out of the kitchen.

All in all $16 for the 2 dishes to feed 3 people
we were rather hungry at this point after waiting quite a while for our food. But I do suspect a lot of MSG in the food as I felt quite thirsty after the meal. And since it is a coffee shop, teh siew Dai bing (milk tea less sweet) to the rescue!

 Char-grilled pork chops with lovely grill lines and a thin layer of fat around the rims. I just love its smoky flavour without too much charring. The thickness of the meat is just right and it is surprisingly tender as you cut through it. The meat is moist and juicy and when coupled with the savoury and creamy mushroom sauce, it is just incredible. Of course, I’d never give my favourite sides a miss. Crunchy coleslaw with a dressing that is not overly cloying. Fork tender skin-on potatoes with appetising dijonaise. Awesome.

 The husband had a more guilty indulgence of fried chicken cutlet coated with panko breadcrumbs, crunchy potato wedges and a cheesy shell macaroni. While the chicken cutlet was really crispy on the outside, the chicken meat though succulent was quite under seasoned so you’d need to dip into mayo for more flavour. The potato wedges seemed like those out of a bag so wouldn’t go any wrong. The mac & cheese was drenched in cheese sauce that could be made thicker but it was still quite addictive. We loved cheese anyway.

But then again, it outshines Botak Jones by targetting not just the commoners with their affordable ranges, but also catering to those who can pay more for better choices!  Prime Ribeye Steak with Mashed Potato & Fries

GST is already included in the pricing and there is not 10% service charge, so it's merely $21.90 for all these! I'm a happy gal, since I dun need to pay a lot for reasonably good food!

Notice that I mentioned "reasonably" good food. Of coz, you cant compare the quality with upscale western resturants. And you have to "tahan" eating at a non-air conditioned kopitiam. But still, I think it's better than Botak Jones and probably compared to those mid-range resturants.

I especially like their cream of mushroom, with the generous serving of mushrooms. The fried fish was crispy on the outside, and soft in the inside. I will definitely order this next time! The ribeye was passable only, as the meat was rather hard to tear apart, and eating this required a little "effort". =p

Astons was having their eighth anniversary promotion on 15 May, only eight dollars for their prime ribeye with two sides, it was such a steal! I thought to myself that I must not miss out this hard to come by promotion.As stated, the meal includes one prime ribeye steak and mac n cheese and baked potato for the two sides.The steak was well marinated and tender and the sauce complemented it so well.The mac n cheese is nice too, cheese sauce is cheesy enough.The baked potato is nothing special.

I've been to several Aston outlets including the one near chomp chomp, amk and the cathay cineplex. From my experience, i would say the Ang Mo Kio branch is, by far, the best outlet. Firstly, the food quality is consistent with the other outlets. Secondly, as with the other Aston outlets with no air conditioning, it's cheaper than the one at the Cathay.  This lemon chicken chop is not bad.
