Celebrate this Christmas with Surprises
2010-12-09
Who says Christmas is only for the Westerns? At Goodwood Park Hotel, their talented and creative chefs have prepared a wide selection of sweet and savoury delights you can get to enjoy this season! At only S$128 (8 – 10 persons serving), the Baked Boneless Turkey stuffed with Shanghai noodles combines the best of Eastern and Western traditions to give Christmas an Eastern touch and a truly unique festive creation. Craving into the moist turkey reveals wok-fried springy Shanghai noodles, shredded pork and cabbage.
Not forgetting pork-lovers, Goodwood Park’s Sichuan BBQ pork skewers are perfect for a causal get-together. These succulent chunks of pork shoulder are barbecued to tender perfection and extremely flavourful, thanks to a 24-hour marination process with red chillies, orange, garlic and salted soy bean paste. It is enjoyable on its own; but for those who need a spice boost, a special blend of homemade Sichuan chilli dip is available. S$48 per dozen.
While you are down at Goodwood Park Hotel, do remember to try their Hainanese Turkey. Back by popular demand, this traditional Christmas turkey is cooked with an Asian twist! Poached for two hours in a superior chicken stock filled with spring onions, pandan leaves, ginger, garlic, and Goodwood Chefs’ secret condiments, this East-meets-West rendition will make an excellent centrepiece at the table. Accompanied by 12 authentic Hainanese rice balls and condiments such as dark soy sauce, chilli, and minced ginger. S$188 for twelve to sixteen portions.
For a healthier choice, head on down to Cold Storage and get their healthy Christmas Dishes. Christmas PRO-B Roast Chicken with herbs and chestnut stuffing (1.3Kg for S$32.90) is a top seller.
If you are looking for a quiet place for Christmas lunch, you should try COVA Pasticceria’s four course set lunch at just 48++ per person. Available from 13 to 23 December 2010 only, it features dishes such as Herbed Pappardelle served with turkey ragout glazed with red wine reduction and Oven-baked spinach cannelloni stuffed with chicken, caramelized apple, and parmesan sauce.
