This place has killed all other egg tarts for me. I've been coming here since I was a tot, and seen various outlets appear in malls and then die a torturous death. Whenever I pass by, I have to pick up some. It's not me, it's the the siren song of these tarty things. The auntie will always ask "How many you want?" and I'll go "However many can go into a box. My mother came back from a meeting at Chinatown, she bought back the delicious Tong Heng Egg Tarts. Too bad I ate a too hearty dinner so I could not stomach them for supper and had to keep them for breakfast. Despite keeping the egg tarts overnight, the egg tarts tasted so good. the pastry did become a little soft but the buttery fragrance still remained there. The custard of the egg tart is not too sweet, very smooth and goes well with the pastry. It was very satisfying.

Tong Heng egg tarts are famed to be one of the best egg tarts and I can understand why it is so when I tried them yesterday. Their egg tarts are in a signature diamond shape with a wobbly crust. Some said this could be one of the best curry puff in Singapore. I tried based on their recommendation but could not quite agree after trying. The crust tasted different, it did not have flaky texture like most curry puffs. It tasted a bit towards the short crust pasty that have got a slight buttery taste. The curry potato filling is towards the mixture of the japanese curry and indian curry. I do not quite appreciate such a flavor and this is not really my kind of curry puff.

Brought some Egg Tart and Lao Po Biscuit to try. The egg tart was well made and cooked with a soft and smooth egg custard and also a bit milky taste. Although the skin was a bit soft, but the overall taste of the egg tart was good and was different from the other egg tart that is sold outside.
