Nice and affordable tchi char stall located on the top floor of far east plaza.I was recommended to come here by my friend if not I wouldnt know there are so many food stalls here on the topmost floor of far east plaza. There is no gst here and I ordered a hot plate toufu at $10 and another plate of thai chilli chicken also at $10.The items are well cooked and goes really well with rice. The thai chilli chicken was abit too spicy for me as I initially thought it would be those sweet and spicy thai chilli, but nope the chilli used is different here not sweet at all, pure spicy.Hot plate tofu is also yums with prawns, fish slices, chicken strips, mushrooms and egg tofu.查看更多

Other than serving Zi Char, Susan Chan Food also sells mixed vegetable rice in the afternoon. But beware, the queue is usually super long during lunch time.I order 2 vegetable dish + 1 meat dish for less than $4. The aunty is also very generous with the rice. I especially like their stir fried kailan which are usually fresh and crunchy, and very tasty. Their soft steamed egg is also very unique as it comes with black soya sauce and fried onions on top, bringing extra flavour to this otherwise plain dish.Highly recommended.查看更多

Susan Chan Food is one of my favourite place to go for Zi Char. Conveniently located at Far East Plaza, I will always come here for dinner after some shopping. The Prawn Paste Chicken is okay, crispy on the outside, soft & tender on the inside. But somehow I just feel that there is something missing. I would think it's average only.. not till fantastic.Enoki mushroom with spinach and beancurd is quite a surprise for me. The highlight for this dish is probably the gravy which is thick and yummy. Goes really well with rice. The vegetables are crunchy and paired with the soft beancurd.. a rather divine combination.Sichuan Soup is probably my favourite out of all dishes at Susan Chan. It's just a little spicy and every mouth is full of ingredients. There's also bamboo shoots in the soup which gives a crunchy bite once in a while. You are warned not to order too many dishes if you are ordering this soup as the starchy soup is quite filling and I often find myself really full after that.查看更多

You can almost always spot a queue right outside Susan Chan. I love to eat tze-char and rice, so I thought I can't miss trying out this place that is situated right at one of my favourite shopping malls, right? We ordered all the hot favourites of any tze char meal. The table seats six people and in general the portion is either slightly smaller than ideal.Sweet & Sour Chicken ($17): More sweet than sour, this dish is quite well done with comfortable-sized chicken pieces. I love how the sweet & sour sauce is smooth and thick. My favourite dish for every tze char meal. Susan Chan's rendition of this dish is above average. Fried Kai Lan Thai Style ($10): Upon a strong recommendation from my colleague, we decided to order this dish. While vegetables are not something I'll order on my own, this dish is okay, I think. It has a light wokhei aroma but I find that the sauce wasn't thick enough for me. Objectively speaking, the kai lan was crunchy and maintain its freshness but I think vegetables still don't sit well with me. Fu Rong Omelette ($7): Another "standard" dish, but I think their Fu Rong Omelette is a bit too oily and hence slightly below average. Not recommended. Fried Beancurd Hotplate ($17): Deliciously rich in flavour and ingredients, but too little to be shared among six people (perhaps four people's sharing). Recommended but it's a little too expensive. There isn't much service to speak of, but they get things done pretty fast - issuing seats and taking orders, but nothing beyond that. The place has long rectangular tables rather than round tables, so not as conducive for bigger groups that want to engage in conversations. Note that you can't really linger around after your meal because there is a pressurizing queue right outside. A little too expensive for the quality and portion though. 查看更多

Was quite tired of ordering tze cha dishes so I decided to order something to try. wasn't feeling full and craving for something like and soupy, so I.ordered the fish slice bee hoon. it was surprisingly good though it tasted really healthy and light. The fish slices are fresh too and they uses red snapper fish meat (if I'm not wrong). one bad thing about the dish is that the portion is very small and costs $5. The place is crowded during lunch peak hours so be prepare to wait for an empty seat for about 10 minutes or so.查看更多

I love the salted egg pork at Susan Chan! Their sauce is simply heavenly! Perfectly cooked tender slices of pork, drenched in salted egg gravy. Even the cabbage leaves that get soak in this sauce tastes awesome. This dish doesn't come with the egg, I asked to add it which totals up to $6.50. Not the cheapest but very good standard. And they're not stingy on the sauce either! Most recommended if you don't mind a sinful lunch. :)查看更多

Actually I wanted try another stall beside but it was full house, so i came here again for their egg yolk rice set but I realize that they really don't sell it during night time. I was thinking to order plain rice with egg yolk meat but was a bit plain, so decided to pay $5 for their fried rice. It was just normal, only with some frozen vegetables cubes and hams. For the price $5, I can go outside can get seafood fried rice which taste much nicer than this. Waiting time was very long during dinner time, waited about 20mins before food was served.查看更多

This is one of restaurants which I frequent with my GF as the food here is really delicious! Service is slow though, be prepared to wait for 10-20 mins for your food especially when the place is crowded. As usual, we came down for a simple dinner on a Friday evening after work. We were not very hungry that day so we only ordered 2 dishes + 2 plates of plain rice. One of our must-order is this - Salted Egg Pork Ribs. The restaurant offers 2 types - with bones or without bones. Having tried both, I would definitely recommend the one without bones as the meat is softer and there's more meat. The sauce for this dish is quite heavenly, creamy and full of flavour. One of the best I have had.Another one of our must-order is the Si Chuan Soup which my GF simply love. It is thick, with a little bit of spiciness, and just a little sour. The soup is also filled with generous amount of other ingredients such as chicken, bamboo shoot, black fungus, mushrooms and eggs. It is very delicious and quite filling due to the starch I guess..The food here is definitely worth coming back for more.. We have been visiting this place atleast 1-2 times a month and will continue to do so. :) 查看更多

Usually i will dine with boyfriend at another outlet instead of this, so we went to try out this outlet on a Friday night. The crowd was still manageable but seems like they are short handed service was quite slow. We went in and get a seats our self and placed a order. We ordered yang zhou fried rice and salted egg pork without bones. Their fried rice is those normal taste, included ham egg beans etc. But their salted egg pork is quite disappointing, the salted egg is not enough and the sauce is a lot some parts of the pork is so plain. Maybe i will be back to try other dish. 查看更多

The Foodi ordered the Sambal Kang Kong and hot plate toufu with 2 plates of rice. The Kang Kong is not over-cooked with just the right level of spiciness and not so oily too. As for the hot plate toufu, there were ample ingredients such as prawns, egg, mushrooms and veggie. The egg toufu used is very fresh and delicious and complements very well with white and fluffy rice. The sauce used also very tasty and I finished the whole plate very fast as it was so delicious. The PriceReasonably priced at around $17 for the whole bill.OverallI will definitely come back again to try the other dishes and highly recommended to try this!查看更多

Is my 3rd visit here within 2months time ,The reason i keep coming back here was for their salted egg porkLast friday i went around 7.20pm,it was full house, waited 10mins for a seat ,we ordered our food around 7.35pm & food was served around 8pm ,I wanna order the salted egg pork rice shop but it was sold,so we order plain rice & some dishes instead This time ordered their salted egg pork rib, without bones,i'm glad that i made the right choice, second visit,i ordered with bones & it was quite hard to chew, but this without bone was so soft & chewy ,but i still find that their salty egg not much strong ,oat meal prawn not very nice, not well marinated,a bit tasteless, lemon chicken was disappointed too, there's a weird chicken smell which we don't like,Teppanyaki was nice, the vegetable soup was a bit blend too, overall i only will recommend their salted egg pork rib without bone & teppanyaki tofu, the only thing i was quite unhappy was i requested for mayo but the auntie refused to give us查看更多

Ordered this when i got tired of the sze chuan soup with rice. The portion of the salted egg pork is very little. And it cost me $6. Expensive but it is so good. I am not a big fan of salted egg but this dish makes me want to eat more. A dish of salted egg pork cost $8 but there are many slices of it. It will be more worth to buy a separate dish of salted egg pork and 2 bowls of rice to share between 2 people. So, instead of $6 for the pathetic portion of meat, you pay $5 per person for more meat.查看更多

On a Public Holiday, the bustling chaos of the usual office crowd is non-existent at the top floor of Far East Plaza. My family & I took this opportunity to go to Susan Chan for lunch. The small eatery is nothing much to look at, save for the signboard that blares 'Susan Chan Food' at you, there is really nothing that will draw your attention to this place (maybe except for the snaking queues during weekday lunchtimes...).We ordered a stir fried kailan, spinach tofu with enoki mushrooms, fried boneless pork ribs in salted yolk sauce and a Szechuan soup. The bill came up to $38 in total, including 3 plates of rice and 3 glasses of warm barley. The spinach tofu and enoki mushrooms came in this light brown sauce that was simply heavenly. There is no way to describe it or put it into words but the taste is really heavenly. It has a slight wok-hei to it, and the tofu was also fragrant. The mushrooms were stringy and starchy (Being drenched in the sauce) and the spinach wasn't overcooked. Delicious. The pork ribs with salted egg yolk sauce is definitely a 5/5. Do ask for the boneless one because it comes with 5 large pork rib fillets, immersed in this salty-sweet sauce. It smells buttery and salty, tastes creamy but not overpowering (you can still taste the crispy skin of the fried pork rib)...topped off with curry leaves served on a bed of lettuce -it's remarkably delicious. Exceeded expectations by a mile. The stir fried kailan was very tasty, still crisp and very refreshing. The sauce wasn't too heavy and complemented the fresh greens deliciously. We polished the entire plate!!The soup was thick, but not overly starchy. It was topped with fresh spring onion and chilli oil. When mixed in with the tofu, wood ear and mushrooms in the soup -it becomes a hot soup that packs a punch. It's savoury, served piping hot. One of the best szechuan soups I've drunk! For just $5, this bowl is thick and substantial enough for 3 people to share.Definitely coming back here again, the food is heavenly -super tasty and well-prepared. Much thought has been put into each dish to make sure the ingredients complement each other perfectly. A holy matrimony of flavours, fusing together in a single dish. Even though we had to wait approx 15 minutes for our food, it was definitely worth the wait.查看更多

Back here again for the nth time and finally got around to trying their tom yam seafood soup. For a stall that sells cheap food, the amount of ingredients isn't that bad. Their soup's a little too coriander (or is it parsley)-charged... not my cup of tea so I guess asking them to hold off those greens would be good.If you're coming here for lunch, note that it takes quite a while to get a seat!查看更多
