Each time when I by pass this dessert stall there is always a queue of at least minimum 4 to 5 people.I decided to order a bowl of dessert.I wonder what is so special about this stall that was awarded culinary skills.I wanted to try the Gingko nut longan soup but was not available.Therefore I opted for a bowl of hot Cheng Tng. I decided to order a bowl of dessert.I wonder what is so special about this stall that was awarded culinary skills.
I wanted to try the Gingko nut longan soup but was not available.
Therefore I opted for a bowl of hot Cheng Tng. I paid S$1.20 for this dessert.There were a few variety of ingredients in the Cheng Tng such as a slice of sweet potato, red dates, dried longan, white fungus and a few more items.
I did not finish this dessert because it was extremely sweet.
"Cheng" supposingly to be "clear" as what the soup should be wasn't so. Thee was no taste of the longan at all.
I prefer my Cheng Tng to have a lighter texture but Lit Lit Xin Cheng Tng is too dark and I believe they have added too much of Gula Melaka which makes this dessert very very sweet.
The soup is so dark that I cannot even see what's inside the bowl of Cheng Tng.
Luckily, I was the third in the queue and its definitely not worth lining up to place an order. I believe other Cheng Tng stalls at any foodcourt is even better than theirs.
