The Fried Kway Teow had nice aroma of "Wok" smell. There was also vegetables, chinese sausages and cockles in the Fried Kway Teow. The Fried Kway Teow was very moist and kway teow had the tasted of "Wok" fried. I prefered less moist ones.

Overall, I find that the taste was quite similar to the one at Hong Lim Hawker Centre, maybe both stalls are of the same stall owner.

This stall is pretty popular with the crowds. When I arrive slightly before lunch time, there was already a snaking queue formed. Apparently a customer in front was making a mass order and holding up the queue as a result. My turn came after 20 mins and I placed an order for $4 plate. Although it's not written on the menu, you can place an order for $5 char kway teow, as the person behind me did. That was not a bad choice since the $4 portion is not very big. The plate of char kway teow was served piping hot and I felt the flavors were pretty balanced- not too overly sweet nor overwhelming with dark sauce. The noodles were not fried too dry, it was still nice and moist. And each portion is served with a plethora of fresh ingredients- cockles, vegetables and crispy pork lard. Every bite is sinful but so good and worth the wait!

One of the best fried Kway teow i ever eat, the sauce and ingredients are just nice with wok taste, i simply love it, I could not find this nice one elsewhere in singapore, one thing you got to be patient with the queue, they cook each plate slowly, although price a bit expensive but i really don't mind to pay for good quality food, overall the sauce blends well with ingredients and chilli, highly recommended.

I guessed it was a very famous CKT stall in Singapore, I saw its advertisement at MediaCorp Channel before. Here, I found a cheerful boss who fried Kway Teow at this stall over 30 years. There are different prices for different sizes depending on how hungry you are. I got the $3 version and it was just nice for me. The queue was very long and it was a 25 minutes wait for me. The texture was very moist and I could smell the fragrance of it when the plate was in front of me. There were many different types of ingredients in it which made the char kway tiao more delicious such as fishcakes, cockles, vegetables, eggs, chinese sausages (which I did not like), and beansprouts. I have eaten the fried kway teow many times. The taste this time was not as good, a sign of fluctuating quality of their food. The queue was long when I ordered the $4 one. The whole plate is mainly kway teow and mee with beansprouts. The Chinese sausage, egg and fishcake was hardly to be seen. The taste was normal; the standard is different. This time, it is not fried by the elderly uncle who usually man the stall. The overall taste is not worth the queue.

Recently, I have grown an interest to search for "old taste" at the various hawker centres in Singapore. I will definitely love to join any hawker food trails if any. We made an impromptu decision last weekend to drive over to Bedok South Food Centre for lunch. I remembered that we could find this famous Hill Street Char Kway Teow stall at this food centre and went to check out the stall immediately. To my relief, there was a queue but not too long to dissuade me from queuing (We were there at around 11am, before the peak hour). The last time when I was here, the queue was much longer and I was too hungry to queue for it.

Thus, this was my first plate of Char Kway Teow from this famous stall. It might have failed badly in terms of presentation, but this $3 plate of yummy Char Kway Teow came with eggs, medium-sized cockles, sausages, bean sprouts and of course, the crispy, crunchy lards that were fried together with the flat noodles. Yes, you can't escape from LARD here, it enhances the flavour of the Char Kway Teow!

You won't miss this stall with the bright yellow signboard and with an almost perpetual queue most of the time.

First mouthful. It did not taste quite like it. The wok hei was distinctly missing. It did not have much of the pork lard nor the taste as well. The texture was rather moist. It served with a handful of cockles, bean sprouts and with a bit too little egg. I remember it used to have chinese sausage too but it was missing this time.

It used to taste much better before when it was fried by that old Uncle but definitely disappointing this time. Perhaps i should have check who is behind the wok before i started to queue next time.

Is it worth the queue? Not so if it is not fried by that famous Uncle.

This stall serves the best fried kway teow in Singapore. It moved from the already demolished Hill Street Food Centre to the current location more than a decade ago. I went there early and seated near the stall; waited to order. The lady started to take the order even before the stall is ready for business. After ordered, given the table number and paid, it took about 25 minutes for the fried kway teow to be served to the table. This plate of fried kway teow has got a distinctive wok taste and

This plate of fried kway teow has got a distinctive wok taste and an intense flavor. It was fried perfectly with ingredients like chinese sausage, cockles, fishcake, egg and bean sprouts. The taste was nicely moist. A good amount of fried pork lards was added to enhance its taste and to bring out its flavor.

It is actually my friend who brought me here to try out the famous hill street fried kway teow. This fried kway teow smells ggood and tasty when served hot. It actually consists of chinese sausages and bean sprouts. And it is really really cheaP! Well, the environment is definitely not an ideal one. But still, i will recommend it to my other friends because it is really something different and definitely worth a try.

No doubt, this should be the most famous fried kway teow in Singapore. You are expected to wait even if you come before their opening time. No word is capable to describe the awesomeness of this wonderful plate of fried kway teow. The texture and the taste were superb, the dark sweet sauce used was of a good balanced and it was nicely fried with a distinct wok hei. A generous amount of bean sprouts were used to give it the crunchiness. It served along with an equally generous amount of cockles too.

A certain effort is required to travel from other part of Singapore to Bedok South just for a plate of fried kway teow but this effort is definitely worthwhile as you will definitely not be disappointed.

Highly recommended.

Before I tried their CKT, I think only the CKT stall at Marina Parade (Apollo) have manage to impress me so far. The rest was just slightly average.

Their CKT here are generally different from Apollo.
I would say they are of two different class.

The CKT they serve here belongs to the more conventional type. Simply skilled.
Taste is a little overwhelming (But I love it!)
Generous bean spout, spring onions and the most essential of CKT - PORK LARD and Cockles!

Every mouthful you could taste the fragrant of the lard.
Very sinful indulge, but it's really one of the simple pleasures of life.
For good CKT lovers - this is not to be missed!
