Heng carrot cake is a famous stall in the touristy Newton Circus Hawker Centre that dishes out carrot cake and oyster omelettes. I've tried it previously and was rather good. Costing about $4, the carrot cake here is crispy and well fried. It is also not too oily and I love the charred bits and pieces. The eggs are also generous. Not too bad considering the price and portion.

Rice cakes used were soft but the taste of carrots was really quite minimal. But the good thing about this plate of carrot cake is that they were very crispy, having been fried to a crispy golden. After some time, the fried carrot cake still remained crispy. The eggs were also quite generous but I didn’t like the chilli sauce which was a little too sweet. Other than that, it is a pretty good plate of carrot cake.

Really like the carrot cake here, they offer both black and white versions but i prefer the white one. The cake themselves are really soft and delicious! They are moist and fluffy and have good salty savoury flavour to them with the taste of radish evident. Not too expensive too at a few dollars per packet, and they use lots of eggs which i really like for the added flavour.

I had an early dinner ordering my favourite stir fried rice cakes.I doubt the use of carrots in the making of these at all cause i couldn't taste carrots in it.nonetheless. in all its egg and crowning glories. the rice cakes used are moist and soft, held together by beaten eggs fried to a crisp on the sides with chilli on the side. I would recommend this dish more for sharing and not a one person dish.

the black carrot cake here is very good. the dark soy sauce is fragrant and intense in terms of flavour, and the dish has a nice slight smokey taste. The carrot cake itself is very soft and smooth, and pairs very well with the eggs that it is fried with. The whole dish comes together very nicely and all the elements complement one another. It was Sunday night and my girlfriend and I decided to have some good hawker food and we decided to head to Newton Food centre. We ordered the white carrot cake from Heng carrot cake stall.The carrot cake was really yummy and the portion was really quite big considering we only bought the $4 portion. It's good enough to share. The down part was that we had to wait quite a while for the carrot cake to arrive as it was really popular. So, be prepared to wait if you are ordering from the shop. Wort
