Sometimes you run out of choices on what to have for lunch. When you have idea on what to have, it is not available. That happens to me today. As previously I have reviewed on their Dory Udon, the only difference now is just a change from Dory to Tempura (Prawn).

Their so-called tempura isn't those that we have outside at Japanese restaurant which their outside is crispy. Here to me, it is just battered prawns from the looks of it. Don't you agree? Kind of disappointing. As usual, a piece of crabstick tempura can be found in the soup but a little hard. I kind of don't really like soggy stuff especially when the fried food is dipped into it. The crispiness is lost. But their udon is the saviour. Nice, smooth and springy and you can easily slurp up the udon.

So now, I'm gonna introduce another choice in their menu and that is Saba Chicken Teriyaki Set (or call it Set No. 9) that costs you $4, complete with a rice, miso soup and two jellys. The jelly is only meant for set meals so remember to grab it at the counter. The Saba fish is about half slice portion that is pan fried nicely without being charred. The Saba fish is about half slice portion that is pan fried nicely without being charred. But this is my first and last time having Saba fish because I don't really like it. I'm not sure if that is the taste but the fishy smell can be felt although it is properly cooked. Luckily, there is teriyaki sauce pour over it which actually can cover the smell so that I can finish it all without waste. I can't say that is not fresh but just don't really like the taste.

And on the same plate is the chicken. Actually it is just fried chicken cutlet with teriyaki sauce. Nothing specially about that. It is of course crispy but a little oily plus the fats can be seen too. There is a small amount of plain-looking salad with little amount of mayonnaise on it to reduce the oiliness and it helps somehow.

Overall, with a price of $4 what's more can you ask for when this can actually fill up your stomach for at least the rest of the afternoon till dinner time.

When there is long queue during lunch hours, I will choose the shortest and that means I will be eating Japanese food. Short queue doesn't mean their food is not nice. You are not gonna have Japanese food everyday right? Today for lunch, I had Dory Udon ($3.50). They will fry the dory on the spot but it won't take you long before your food is served. The portion is decent and they give you 3 modest piece of dory. That is good enough. And is fresh. That's what matters most. Surprisingly got a pie

That is good enough. And is fresh. That's what matters most. Surprisingly got a piece of crabstick tempura in the udon. Nice. Udon are well-cooked.

At the price of $3.50, this is definitely a decent meal to look forward. Warm and satisfy your tummy.

I would recommend the chicken katsu curry ($4). The curry has all the taste and none of the spiciness, just the way that japanese curry should be. The chicken meat is tender, but slightly have a oil taste to it. Another that i would recommend would be the oyako don. The sauce is yummy, and goes well with rice and it is not that salty. Some of the food though, were disapponiting. Teriyaki chicken, or as they called "black chicken" among themselves, is really more of soya sauce chicken instead.

They introduced some korean food to the stall, but, i would say, it is not their forte. And they make it taste more towards jap food rather than the authentic korean food
