Partnering with his wife, Joe decided to have his own Thai eatery after working at Parkway Thai Restaurant for 6 years. Being a chef and Thai himself, he sure knows what it takes to create authentic Thai cuisine that captures the hearts of Singaporeans. This hidden gem is located along the road side right opposite Alexandra Hospital.
The food here were undoubtedly delicious, however, were a little 'heavy' compared to else where. For instance, the green curry was thicker, the basil flavour was overpowering for the basil leaf pork and Tom Yam had too much of a kick. Basically, if the chef could hold back 10% of intensity, I would had enjoyed it thoroughly!

Price and portion were reasonable. So for those who prefers their Thai food to be heavy and intense in flavour, Joe's Kitchen is for you!

 One of the recommended dishes, Thai Fish Cake. Most of their "finger food" items were charged based on per piece which was quite different from other thai restaurants. Fish cake was abit oily, however the fish meat was rather fresh and one can feel the bounciness as we sank our teeth in. The salad and sweet sour chilli had complimented the dish well.

 Luminous yellow pineapple rice with rasins, cashew nuts, pork floss and prawns sum up the plate of pineapple rice. Taste wise, I felt that it's pretty average, nothing to rave about.

 The stuff chicken wing was the main highlight among all dishes. Do not worry about eating them with your bare hands and removing the bones. In fact, only the bottom part of the chicken has bone, the rest was stuffed with goodies.

 Let's check out their secret recipe in their stuffed chicken wings.The exterior of the wing was fried to crisp golden brown perfection with fillings made up of minced chicken meat mixed together with bits of chestnuts and sweet corn kernels. Uniquely Joe's Kitchen!

 After the stuff chicken, this is another specialty of Joe's Kitchen that one cannot left the place without. Given a choice of crispy tofu, hotplate and claypot toufu, the server highly recommended the first option. Well, we bought her words and it was great. Just like the stuffed chicken wings, the toufu was specially made, blended with seafood bits and fried over the hot oil. The exterior was very crispy, not too oily and to my liking.

 How can a Thai Cuisine be without their so called Fresh Thai Coconut and Lemon Grass drink? Ha! These were the beverages for the night.

 Prawns with cashew nuts was tad spicy as it was cooked with dried chilli and capsicums. Although the portion was medium, the number of prawns given wasn't that much.

 After the night's dinner, I find that what most interest me was their appetizer or finger food items. They were special and not many Thai Cuisine offers such items on their menu.

Nice and affordable Thai cuisine

i was in the area of bukit merah just opposite Alexandra Hospital. It was lunch time and feeling a craving for thai cuisine. So i used openrice iphone app and saw a thai restaurant by the name of Joe's kitchen nearby. So i decided to give it a try.When i saw the place, i thought to myself that this doesnt look like a thai restaurant but upon closer look, i saw the picture of the thai king and queen. It was packed with office workers and luckily it was air-conditioned. So i proceed to order the recommended olive rice, tom yum soup, basil minced pork and broccoli.

 it comes with condiments on the side. because the lady boss says some customer dont like all the condiments so they decided to put on the side. I think its a good idea.

 tom yum soup is very nice as i personally dont like it too sour.

Overall its a good place especially if you looking for thai and do not want to burn your pocket. will definitely come back to try other dishes

Thai Cuisine has always been one of my favourite because I enjoy eating spicy foods.Be it 'Tom Yum Ban Mian', 'Chilli Crab', ' Tom Yum Fried Rice'.Enough of saying and now I'm going to make you drool. This prawn cakes has a very nice springy consistency with a very
well-mixed marination that result in nice fragrant when I eat it.

To me, it was a little spicy and I feel that perhaps they should allow customers
to choose the level of spiciness. And of course with its fiery,non-oily and slightly sour soup broth, your appetite will definitely be increased

I always love fish that is being steamed because it will let you
savour the freshness and natural sweetness of it than deep-frying.
And, I can say this fish is fresh because there is no strong fishy smell.
I love the gravy too.

 Claypot Crab with Vermicelli

Price: $18 (per crab)

Out of all the dishes, I love this the best because I love eating Vermicelli.
Can you see the huge amount of Vermicelli (:
And of course not forgetting the female crab, the shell was quite soft which I can easily
cracked it using my own teeth.

Joe's Kitchen served up many delicious dishes. I don't like/ cannot eat spicy food, but their range of non-spicy dishes make up a really satisfying meal. In fact it sort of tasted like Chinese cuisine. This is what we ordered, I think it was honey chicken, fried rice and some vegetables. To think, I hate eating vegetables, but this plate of vegetables changed my opinion!!! I loved eating everything here. The food is great and service is okay (the basic, nothing spectacular).  This is what we ordered, I think it was honey chicken, fried rice and some vegetables. To think, I hate eating vegetables, but this plate of vegetables changed my opinion!!! I loved eating everything here. The food is great and service is okay (the basic, nothing spectacular). The restaurant is air-conditioned and fairly clean. In fact, the food is so delicious that you won't really care about your surroundings.

Just one word of advice though, the lemon grass drink is not very nice. You will be better off ordering some standard canned drinks.

This place might be a little out of the way because it's not walking distance from any MRT station (somewhere between Queenstown and Redhill). But the food there is really worth it

Great Thai Seafood Tom Yam Soup. Vegi is Great and the Green curry is Super.Seafood Tom Yam, Not that sour but got that kick when u hv ur first sip. Green Curry, just nice, not too spicy ,nice for my taste.But service need to improve. Seating arrangement, if the table is for 4 but there is only 2 person. The server should ask the customer if some other couple join them rather then the customer do the asking. So you will have more seat fill rather then empty.

The taste is just right even though it's not that spicy that will cause you to have the tongue numbing effect. Choose from prawn, sliced fish, fried fish or chicken to go with the Tom Yum Soup. Usually, I would also order a bowl of plain rice so that I can pour the tom yum soup over

Next is their stuffed chicken wings. The bone of the thigh area is removed and a bite will reveal the juicy, mashed up meat with onions and corns under the fried skin. It is simply mouth watering just thinking about it.

Lastly is their Thai Fried Vermicelli. It a must try dish.

Not only is the food nice, the price is reasonable too. It won't burn a big hole in the pocket. The staff here are also rather friendly. It's a place that I would like to recommend to everyone who wants to eat Thai food.
