Sending Josh for his 3 week Brunei training so we did a late dinner at the airport. Everyone's ordered a soup item Qiu Lian's latest offering was marred only by the braised pork. Fatty cuts of meat and yet they were still not braised for long enough to melt in one's mouth. It wasn't hard separating the fat from the meat since neither was tender. Is this the way braised pork china-style should be? That aside, the noodles were al dente as if eating chinese style fettucine. And the braising sauce

Qiu Lian's latest offering was marred only by the braised pork. Fatty cuts of meat and yet they were still not braised for long enough to melt in one's mouth. It wasn't hard separating the fat from the meat since neither was tender. Is this the way braised pork china-style should be? That aside, the noodles were al dente as if eating chinese style fettucine.
And the braising sauce was a crowning delight.

Mini wok's herbal soup broth was surprisingly tasty and the set comes with a selection of vegetables, some tunghoon, pork slices, sliced mushroom, crabstick and fishmeat items. We liked it that the soup was kept bubbling throughout and was still hot by the end of the meal.

Jin Yu's fish soup was... to be subjective, the ample slices of fish meat were fresh but the soup, even with the addition of carnation milk was not saved. It lacked flavour. A terribly watered down version.

Due to SQ flight delayed from Hong Kong for almost 2 hours, consequently my dinner was also delayed at around 9+pm at T3. Though I didn’t have much food on flight, I was still full at that time. Browse the foodcourt, I chose fish soup for a light dinner. Due to SQ flight delayed from Hong Kong for almost 2 hours, consequently my dinner was also delayed at around 9+pm at T3. Though I didn’t have much food on flight, I was still full at that time. Browse the foodcourt, I chose fish soup for a light dinner. My friend came to pick me up, he ordered tom yam noodle at the same stall.

First taste the clear soup, it was light and bland, very mild msg though. I don’t like most of the fish soup stalls put milk into soup, it is a way of save time in boiling soup based and disguise like it has long boiled. Fish slices were fine, marinated to the right taste and texture. Overall it was OK.

Whereas, my friend’s tom yam noodle was OK, I got to taste a spoonful of the soup, it could tell it was just OK! Nothing much to expect from it, to term with it is foodcourt standard.

Initially we wanted to have Astons but looking at the long queue and over heard the waiter said that the waiting time for the food to be served is 40 minutes excluding the waiting time to get a table. The food court wasn't any better! It was flooded with people, mainly Singaporeans! Despite the huge food court, the demand were pretty overwhelming! It took us 15 minutes to get a table. We were half exhausted by the time we travelled from terminal to terminal. Thus, we ordered what was in front of us.

The Qiu Lian Ban Mian here wasn't that fantastic then elsewhere.

The soup wasn't that thick over here, it was a bit too bland. And it was quite weird, they didn't offer red cut chili. Thus, I had to steal it from its neighbour. Opss.

The Tom Yam version was ordinary too.

I guess it depend which Qiu Lian Ban Mian you visit, the taste is not universal.
