How can anyone resist a plate of Rojak?

There's just something about it that even if you're not the biggest fan, you're still going to take a bite or two if there's a plate of it in front of you.

My favourite part about Rojak (and I'm guessing it's the same for many of you too) is the You Char Kway that comes along with it. And it's always the first to finish and always not enough! That's why I sometimes order a whole plate of just You Char Kway (yes you can do that) but then again sometimes it's nice to have a little variety right?

Well anyways, I personally feel that they're a little stingy with the Char Kway here.

Taste-wise, it's a little less tangy than some other places we've had Rojak. Maybe less Asam water used?

Not too spicy but you can always ask for more chili if you like.

And of course, you don't have to have the Century Egg if you don't fancy it. You can always swap it out for some Sotong Kering if that's your thing. But I do have to say that Century Eggs do seem to be increasingly popular even among the younger crowds.

I remember there used to be a different stall selling Rojak at Tang Tea House but I guess they've moved on.

Guess this stall will have to do for now while we have our favourite dim sum at Tang Tea House!

Fancy a bite at night in the east and not sure where to go? Simpang will definitely be a place for you to solve those problems! Order the Roti John if you want a power-packed meal and together with a drink, it will definitely fill you up! the roti john came with plenty of mushrooms and they were so succulent! It was also drenched in cheese! The other comfort food that i always go for would the black hokkien mee! Not as good as the traditional ones in KL, but i'm not complaining man!

This place is known for its homemade Dim Sum. I’ve eaten the chicken leg and it was beyond awesome! I'm hooked to it! Their har kow is also really awesome. I love it!It is a halal restaurant and all its Dim Sum are made with chicken instead and halal-certified ingredients. Their Siew Mai is tasty and bigger size than most places. Another plus point is that this place is open till very late, so you can always pop by for supper.

Tang Tea House which is located opposite Bedok Market Place (formerly known) or Bedok Shopping Complex is one of the popular choice among Muslims! One fine day, I was craving for Malay Zi Char so I visited Tang Tea House instead of the usual one I visit. One thing good about Malay Zi Char is that not only they serve zi char, they have dim sum and western on their menu! That's 3 birds with a stone. Heard of Holick Dinosaur? They serve it here! BBQ Stingray

The portion was good for 2 but taste wise not that fantastic. I just felt that the BBQ Stingray was cook separately with the chili - the chili was added on top and that's it. Deep inside the flesh, it was bland.

Not so a place to have delicious Dim Sum...

Deep Fried Shrimps Dumpling

1 hit and 3 misses; perhaps it was Halal and so the taste wasn't that good for me as I prefer the Chinese version Dim Sum.

Still, I suppose this place must be good in serving Malay Zi Char though. Else there wouldn't be so many people crazy over Tang Tea House! Just that I didn't really order much of the Malay Zi Char dish during my visit so it is still worth a second visit.

When I first heard about Tang Tea House, I had to admit I was quite skeptical about the quality of their food. Well, partly because they serve halal dim sum. As you would know, most dim sum items have pork in them, thus, I cannot imagine siew mai with chicken. However, I was totally wrong about them. I was very impressed with their dim sum such as siew mai, har gau, fried prawn fritters etc. The har gau even had "soup" in it, so be careful when you are eating that. I tried their xiao long baos a

I was very impressed with their dim sum such as siew mai, har gau, fried prawn fritters etc. The har gau even had "soup" in it, so be careful when you are eating that. I tried their xiao long baos as well. As usual, they are filled with chicken and lots of soup, but the taste of the soup was a little too sweet for my liking. I still prefer crystal jade's clear-soup xiao long baos.

There is one item that I will like to recommend. That is Crispy Fried Bee Hoon. Something really different from the usual fried bee hoon that we had in chinese restaurant. Worth trying if you are there.

One more plus point for them is that they open till late, so this is an ideal place for supper if you have cravings for dim sum.
