I love to eat chwee kways and would often order chwee kways if i happen to pass by chwee kways stalls.As i was having a slight sore throat,i did not request for chilli.The warm soft moist sticky chwee kway is nice enough to eat alone without any condiments but it is best to go with the savoury sweet slightly crunchy caipoks/raddish here.Price is very affordable around $1.50 depending how many pieces of kway you choose.

Tiong Bahru Jian Bo Shui Kueh is quite a famous stall with a few branches throughout singapore. Besides chee kueh, they also sell yam cake, and other kuehs like ang ku kueh, peng kueh etc. I ordered the yam cake which costs me $1.60. It is quite pricey in my opinion since the portion is rather small, but I have to admit it tasted very good. This stall is one of the popular stall within this food centre as it is always crowded with long queue during breakfast hours. knowing there will be long queue here, I have purposely come very early in the morning to buy it. The chwee kuehs' texture is very smooth and soft, which is really easy to eat. The stir fry chye pok are really fragrant and not too oily as well. The combination of both the items are simply delicous! The price is very affordable too.

Shui Kueh or Chwee Kueh is a local snack that is commonly found at food centre. It is usually eaten as breakfast. Chwee Kueh is basically steamed rice cake topped with diced preserved radish (chye poh). Actually I am not sure whether this stall has any relationship with the famous Tiong Bahru Jiao Bo Shui Kueh but the chwee kueh is quite nice. The rice cake was neither watery or hard, a heavenly combination eaten with the chye poh.

I love this place. Would come more often if I could. Their chwee kueh is WONDERFUL. The topping is very generous. And the chwee kuehs are freshly made! Best of all, the pricing is more than reasonable. They also sell lots of colourful kuehs here. And they are very good! A bit greasy but otherwise, the taste is well balanced and not too sweet. I love these colourful nonya kuehs. Its colour is both visually appealing and also interesting. A lot of work goes behind making this kueh, as each layer had to be fully steamed before the next layer can be poured and steamed. This Tiong Bahru signature stall also sells such kuehs, besides selling the chee kway. I got one piece for myself for takeway back to office. The taste is just right, with a hint of coconut and pandan. I especially liked tearing it and eating it layer by layer.
