My friends and I ordered their Kaminabe, which is one of their signature dishes here, besides their ramen. I got the Cod Fish Kaminabe which comes in a paper pot. The soup is not too salty and tasted quite healthy in my opinion. The Prawns and Avocado Salad was quite nice although they seemed to have too much fun with the dressing. Still it's good because it means i get more dressing to go with the salad! I really love this combination. The prawns are cooked and flavoured by the salad dressing and the avocado is crunchy. So paired with the prawns, its quite unique. For the Salmon dish, I didn't really try but I heard its fresh. So thumbs up for Waraku!

Worth coming back for their affordable prices.

This would be my last review (unless new dish) on Waraku as I think I’ve made a point on how easily this place becomes me and my hubby’s favourite place to dine. We’ve eaten almost everything here and the only time we return these days is whenever we are in the area , they have seasonal new dishes or when the craving hits.Bought a new DSLR lens so we were playing around with “bokeh” (means blur in japanese) fitting for a japanese restaurant! In 2 sets : A chopstick full of cold Soba noodles dippe

A chopstick full of cold Soba noodles dipped in perfect mixes of rice wine and soy sauce, slurp it into the mouth starts a great cooling and calming of a hot day from the insides of my tummy.

The pork rice (butadon) was so pretty with garnishing and soft boiled / mollet eggs coated on top. The taste was tender, chewy and the pearl rice hidden underneath pairs off the balance of taste between salty and neutral really well.

Teriyaki chicken was well marinated on its own therefore the topping of mayonnaise results an overall creamy and sweet texture. While the cabbage slices and chicken mixes the texture resistance of crunchy fresh veg and tender juicy meat.

Miso Ramen had the right amount of saltiness that I cleaned out all of the delicious soup from the bowl (it wasn’t a big bowl anyway). Portion ratio of a hardboiled egg , Cha Shu meat to the lovely smooth ramen is perfect.

My japanese happy meal!

We ordered the kimchi pork ramen and ton katsu curry rice. The tasty and well cooked ramen portion was really generous and the bowl is huge ! Sour and appetizing Kimchi soup base with thinly sliced sukiyaki pork NICE ! Thick, creamy and robust goes well with fluffy Japanese pearl rice. Crispy and juicy pan-co coated cutlet. Nice and quiet. Depending on where you're seated, either under a cosy light or with a window and nice sunlight shining in.

There were many lots available for those who drive here. I was planning to go for a slow stroll at the beach as it was a nice day. When we first seated in, the ambience was nice and quiet. Depending on where you are seated, you could either be under a cozy light or at a window seat with streams of sunlight shining in. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I had a craving for bacon and was lazy to buy and bbq/grill my own. So this really hits the spot! It was very juicy and the aspa

Used to come here when i was a kid and would always order the kids meal as it came with a free toy. This time, i ordered the soup pot thing which has vegetables, tofu and some seafood inside. Really love the food here. It never fails to make me leave feeling very satisfied! Love the taste of the soup and the prawn tempuras too! The portions are rather generous and is definitely worth the money! and worth trying all the different food items available on their menu!

I was quite surprized to see that waraku had cream sauced UDON in their menus and since i was feeling a little adventurous, i decided to order the kinoko cream udon. The kinoko cream udon is a cream based udon with mushrooms. It tasted quite delicious initially, but towards the end of the meal, it started to get a bit queasy to finish the entire bowl as the cream sauce was too milky.

When I first saw the queue, and maybe I was attracted by the wooden hut like outlook , I joined the queue. There was a little "lobby"-like waiting area and it was warm. So we went out after getting the number. After 15mins, we went back. Finally the number was called. We were hastily seated and shoved the menus. Okay, we thought, this was casual dining. The ambience is not too bad actually, a little dimmed down, but the waiters were talking loudly and there was a lot of clunking from the plates.

The food was so so - I mean it's casual right? I mean I am comparing what I ordered vs food court's. Okay, the variety is more (don, bento, etc), but the food? Not sure if the quality is there.

It was late, so we thought we should be the last group and hence, the crowd and din should thin out. Well, the crowd yes, but not the noisy. The waiter kept "rushing" to clear the plates, almost in a demanding manner (before I can finish my food). I don't know what's the hurry, as there is no additional incoming consumers and it's still some time to closing hours.

Finally, it was time to pay. Patiently I waited behind a short queue (again). I saw the cashier swiping the credit card in an almost furious manner, apparently frustrated with the machine. I asked what happened, but she refused to answer, choosing to stare angrily behind her small counter for the signal for another swipe. The customer in front was helpless too, but didn't offer any help. I chose to go to the washroom in the meantime. When I came back, she was still trying to swipe.

Common sense, lady. Hence, I suggested for her to collect cash for customers who have them.

I paid mine in cash and left quickly.

Notice I didn't comment too much on the quality of food. The name of the restaurant did say it all - casual. Maybe the food was authentic or whatever, but I was busy filtering out the noise and defending our plates with food from the waiters. The only part I like was - we did find our ways to enjoy - chatting amidst all the cluttering. Just that you need to be louder.

The peace is restored when we step out. it's a relief.
