Zhong Hua Ramen - Koufu (已結業)

This was my first time trying their fish soup which was priced at $4. The fish slices tasted fresh and were tender too. I had it with vermicelli and the soup taste wasn't diluted by the vermicelli. The soup was also not oily and bland tasting. It was a decent bowl of fish soup.

Dry dumpling ramen $4.50 - It was quite a pleasant meal as I wasn't expecting it to taste rather good. Usually I will order the ban mian but this time round I decided to try their dry dumpling ramen (using the thin noodles from ban mian). Their dumpling skin was a little thicker but fillings were abundant. The gravy was very flavourful and went well with the smooth and soft textured noodles. Soup was so-so but that's not the point! Try this instead of your usual ramen soup

Was curious about this stall when saw people are queueing up for it during lunch time. Order a minced meat noodles to give it a try as never taste it before. It was a simple dish as far as i can see. Ingredients like cucumber and minced meat. The noodles texture is soft and smooth. The sauce that goes with it, i not quite sure what is make of but certainly i can say is that it blend well into the noodles and meat. Is a bit salty though but still acceptable. Spent $3.50 for a bowl of noodles.

I didn't know what to eat and I finally settled on ramen. At first, I wanted to take the chicken ramen, but I saw beef ramen and decided to order that. Even before the food came, I knew the beef wasn't going to be like those found in good restaurants, but I ordered it anyway. When I ate it, the beef was tough, as expected. Tonight, I felt like having a bowl of spicy noodle. I was considering between the Tom Yam seafood ramen and Ma La (麻辣) seafood ramen. Finally, I decided on the 麻辣 seafood Ramen because I felt that Tom Yam was a little sour.I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have chilli padis. I always like them on my noodle. But I didn't fuss about it since I thought that Ma La should be spicy enough. Unfortunately, I was again disppointed, it was not spicy at all. A little blend too.

I loved tomato U Mian so decided to try this stall ban mian and I feel that their quanlity was not as good as I expect. Quite ordinary stall here, vendors are friendly though. Not a long queue during dinner time, service is quite fast, price is standard compare to outside stalls is relatively high, normal food court price. I find it quite disappointed as their standard of taste had dropped. The soup was super salty and the noodles textures are not up to the standard.

Recently I have been eating mee hoon kuen from this zhong hua ramen stall. Love the mee hoon kuen which i like the springy texture, the soup which tasted really flavourful and naturally sweet, the mushrooms, minced meat and of cos the freshly fried ikan bilis which were very crispy and crunchy! The aunties were really nice, always give the fried ikan bilis separately!

I was told by my brother that Zhong hua ramen is the best handmade noodles stall he has tried so far. So he has bought me and my mom each a bowl as our lunch recently when he was at West Mall while on his way home.He has bought us the soup mee hoon kuen. Wow, love the texture of the mee hoon kuen (quite springy) and the soup which tasted really nice and naturally sweet. And love the mushrooms and minced meat.
