I have tried both soya bean curd from both stalls here and to me lao ban won by a slight margin, so I will usually queue for lao ban beancurd. I had to queue for around 20minutes before I was able to get my beancurd. Once you opened the tub, you can smell the nice fragrance of the beancurd. As it is very smooth and soft, it is very easy to eat it. The sweetness level is also just right and the taste of soya bean is apparent as well. I got 15tubs of it home this time around!

To be honest, I am not a tau huay lover, but my friend strongly recommend me to try this out. Trust me, this is a MUST TRY tau huay. and u will definitely not regret for trying it. Very tempting right??
Furthermore, it is relatively cheap. Economic and Yummy dessert. Only thing is that you might need to be patient while buying tau huay as there is forever a long queue waiting

My partner was telling me that a long long queue spotted right in front of this stall at about 5.30 pm when he was there. The queue might be long but it was moving rather fast so he waited for about 15 minutes to order.

He ordered 2 original flavor at $1.50 each and a almond flavor at $2.00.

We had it right after dinner. The texture of the beancurd was exceptionally soft, it seemed a little like those steamed milk available in those desserts shops in Hong Kong. When the layer of skin was broken, it seemed like the normal soya beancurd without the custard like texture when i first tasted at one of their outlets in Maxwell Food Centre. I am interested to know whether did they get the texture right for this particular batch?

It was still a good bowl of beancurd with a well-balanced of sweetness and a controlled soya bean taste. I enjoyed pretty much but my partner did not quite like it.

Now the question is: Is it worth the time to queue? I would not mind having this if there is no queue but i am not keen to queue for it. How about you?

So many people in front of me are buying 10s of them, I was so afraid it will be all gone when it reached me, but luckily, there is still ample left. I got 5 bowls in total, all original flavour. The beancurd is more like pudding and it is really very smooth and silky and soft. It glides down your throat very easily, and I realised one box is really not quite enough. I can easily finish two of them at one go. My children loved it as well. If I am staying nearer, I would probably be buying it eve

1 Box for $1.50, i bought the original flavour because everything that is original taste the most actual and real! They are silky and tender, and the texture is also like jelly. They are easily sallow! (: I could finish them within 3 minutes and eat another one, too yummy!

I know the lao ban soya bean has been very hyped about but this is the first time I'm trying it. My verdict is that this truly deserves the amount of praise people have heaped on it. I love how the pudding kinda melts into liquid once you place it in your mouth. It is very smooth as it slurps down my throat. In fact, it is so soft and tender that it feels as if there is nothing really to bite or chew. So it's almost like gurgling it down. So the smoothness is definitely a plus! The other thing I

The other thing I enjoy is the malt taste. It's quite fragrant and sweet-smelling. A really good buy indeed!

TitleLao Ban Bean CurdCommentThe taste of it prove it is worth the wait;D it has a really unique taste that can’t be found in any of the soya bean curd found elsewhere. The texture is so smooth and silky, and it seems to melt in my mouth & swallowing it simply is so easy;DThe taste was really special. It has a moderate sweet taste with fresh bean curd and I just don’t know what ingredients they add in their soya bean curd to make it so nice and delicious.Grade/5

second time trying this beancurd and it still so nice and smooth. the texture is really very different from the normal stores that we can find in the market. somehow they managed to make the beancurd so smooth that it really melts in your mouth. another good thing is that normally the beancurd that i eat might have the very strong soya bean taste that sometimes it could taste bitter but lao ban beancurd does not have this problem

There was already a horrifying queue at the Maxwell Road outlet but gosh by the time I reached, which was about 12.20pm. In fact, they had no more of the original flavour left!!! Later, I found out from my friends that this outlet is relatively quiet if you go before lunch hour cos most customers are office workers around the area.So I only bought their almond tau hway instead, which I found nicer than I expected cos their almond taste is not the overpoweringly strong type. So I only bought their almond tau hway instead, which I found nicer than I expected cos their almond taste is not the overpoweringly strong type. It was actually quite mild in a way such that even a person like me who doesn't like almond found it ok. The best part is that it still had the same burst of watery goodness that's as fantastic as the original flavour. Thumbs up!

(:It was my first time eating it, and i felt there it tastes somehow like JolliBean Beancurd Pudding! haha, yeaps, there have a unique taste that is not normal beancurd.Lao Ban Tou Hua is not really sweet or blend, it just taste just right!Should try if you often eat normal kind of Beancurd! Though it cost more than the Beancurd you often at Market! hah!

I had the original flavour tau huay, i enjoyed every mouth of it, it was chilled, soft, smooth, pudding like, the soya bean taste was strong, but slightly sweet for me. Price is also reasonable, $1.50 per serving and in a takeaway container. I find it more like a soya bean pudding, instead of soya beancurd. But nevertheless, i think it is a must try for soya bean lovers!

I was told that the queue for the beancurd would be extremely long, but it was alright when i went. However, the almond one was sold out for the day, thus i was unable to try it. The smoothness of the beancurd, it melts in your mouth, and it is not as sweet as i feared it would be. It reminds me a lot of pudding, but rich in soya taste. However, the bad part about this is that after having one, i did not particularly feel as though i have had beancurd at all. It is a satisfying dessert, but not a satisfying beancurd. Those who love the taste and texture of beancurd would understand. Though it is always nice to have smooth beancurd, having this just isn't the same.

You can’t dispute just how much smooth and silky goodness is packed in one bowl. The beancurd is firm, (unlike the nua nua tuay huay we are so used to), but it’s not exactly as hard as pudding. It’s somewhere in between. It’s best served chilled and it is really refreshing and makes a great snack/dessert especially in the sweltering Singapore heat. Comes in 2 flavours, Original ($1.50) and almond ($2). Oh and be prepared to brave the queues.
