Went to AKB48 cafe for lunch. Ordered for the carbonara pasta since the picture on the menu looked really appetising. The actual thing is just like the picture, with a half cooked egg on top of the pasta. However, the pasta was disappointing. There was no egg taste at all when mixed with the pasta. This was my first trip to Singapore's AKB48 Cafe. I ordered for the student meal - Oyakodon. Its a rice bowl with chicken, egg and onion. The egg is somewhat half-cooked, the way I like it. The rice bowl is topped off with a sweet-salty sauce. It was slightly too salty near the end. It also comes with a salad and some pickles. Went there with friend for lunch. I had their spaghetti meal with sausage and ham. When the spaghetti was served, it looks quite tempting and piping hot. Attracted by the themed interior, we got in to this cafe. But the food is rather disappointing. I had the Katsu Don ($14.9). The Japanese rice topped with a layer of chicken egg and onion, which is a bit too salty. The set comes with miso soup and salad. Again, the miso soup is saltier than what we usually have. Was quite shocked when I entered the restaurant at 630pm as there was only 1 waitress in the restaurant. Given that there were another 2 tables of diners who came before me, I had to wait for at least 10 mins for the waitress to take my order. So, first impression of the restaurant: Failed. Given that I expected to wait for long time for my food (as there seemed to be only 1 person managing the entire restaurant), I was kinda surprised that the food was served quite promptly (less than 10 mins).
