Bolo bun $1.30. This bun has no fillings in it and is plain on its own. The polo bun with char siew fillings costs $1.60, just 30 cents more. The exterior has a crusty and crumbly texture and is mildly sweet while the bun itself is rather light and fluffy. I think it will taste better if it was freshly baked

It has been quite some time since I bought these glutinous rice cakes from Crystal Jade. The prices have increased since the last time I bought. Now, each of these pancake costs $1.10. I bought a total of thress of these pancakes, one green tea with custard, one pumpkin and one black sesame. Of the three panckes, my favourite is the green tea pancake as the custard filling within the pancake is not too sweet and the taste goes very well with the chewy pancake. The pumpkin pancake is also quite nice, there are also some bits of pumpkin within the pumpkin filling. You will have to try it to see which one you like better!

I find myself buying a lot from crystal jade these days. I got my son to buy the breads from crystal jade since he told me he was in Holland v and I know there is an outlet there. He bought the egg tarts as well as the polo bun with char siew. I ate one of the egg tarts I found it to be really crusty and nice. The exterior crust is a little flaky and it is very buttery. I found it slightly too butter resulting in it being oily, but otherwise, it is really good if you don’t mind the excessive butter and oil. The egg custard is smooth and not too sweet and the custard to crust ratio is just right as well.

had their red bean pastry thingy. rather odd. it's not very good as the pastry is so flaky it all flaked off except for the layer closest to the filling! and it's so crumbly, it just fell everywhere when you bite into it. not recommended! you end up picking at the crumbly flakes of pastry after you finish the filling because it is all at the bottom of the plastic bag. not good. and definitely does not survive a takeaway trip. service is too gruff as well. not sure what i am eating here...

This was my first time trying a Hong Kong style Neapolitan cake. Used to hear the mention of this cake in hongkong shows and it seems to taste very nice.Glad I finally get to try this cake;D it was not a big whole cake, but a small rectangle size cake nicely packed.(:I totally fell in love with this cake the moment I took the first bite. There were so many different layers! Few crispy layers, some soft sponge layer, some layers full of cream, and it just match so well together^^It’s like when I bite it, it was a little cream that I taste at the very top, immediately after I bite on the crispy layer at the top and bottom and this squeeze the cream in between, oozing out into my mouth. The cream was not the inferior cream that we get tired with if there is a lot on the cake. the cream was so special that it has a mixture with something that bites like nuts and the taste is so “mmm…” ;DDefinitely not exaggerating, but perhaps it’s because this is my first time trying and it suits my taste;D
