Being a fan of beef noodles, I needed to try out the popular Hock Lam Beef Noodles! I read online that this stall is since 1911! The owner of the store was crowned Singapore's Beef noodle King in 2002. They have another outlet located at Alexandra. I came around 12+ pm and the shop is super packed with the working crowd. Lucky I managed to get a seat at a corner! You can choose the type of noodles (kway teow/bee hoon), soup/dry and the kind of beef. I chose a combination of beef balls and slice

Anyway, this bowl is huge! The sliced beef is tender and the beef balls very tasty! The soup that was served along was so full of flavour! The gravy is thick and savory and I felt super full and satisfied!

The FoodI ordered a large bowl of Beef Kway Teow Soup with additional tendons. The soup has a rich and sweet taste of the beefy goodness minus the strong beefy smell. The ingredients such as tripe, brisket, tendons and sliced beef are fresh and very tender. The tripe is soft and tender and the brisket is well marinated and does not have any beefy smell. The kway teow is silky smooth and thin and blended well with the rich and tasty soup base.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $9 with generous ingredients!

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

The standard has dropped over the years. The beef soup stock is no longer as good as it was and the soup was a bit too salty. The only saving grace was the chill. For a lunch that cost close to $10, I would expect the standard to be good if not the portion to be generous. If you need a place that has airconditioned, you can consider this place. One thing I don't really like is that they tend to clear you out fast during lunch.

Though I am not a fan of beef noodles, I must say that the beef noodles from Hock Lam tastes good. The meat is tender and lean. Needless to say, there is a long queue at the stall during lunch time. Despite ordering the small portion (you can choose the medium portion if you are a big eater), the serving is kinda huge. This is perhaps the reason why it is more expensive than the beef noodles which are served than most eateries. Do give it a try and I believe you will like it.

This is definitely one of the favourite for the working adults in Raffles Place area. Located at Far East Square, it was always packed with working adults during lunch hour, with a snake long queue. Their beef noodle soup is my favourite. I like it alot better than the dry as the soup base is flavoured with the beef taste. Simply delicious. Yum Yum!

I love the beef ball noodles at Hock Lam Beef situated at Far East Square. The standard has always been up to standard and it never fails my day whenever I’m there for the beef noodles. The soup is fantastic, the 8 beef balls leave a tangy feel, and the kway teow is smooth making the entire experience wonderful.

I will definitely come back for more beef noodles. It is value for money with the tasty food and friendly and attentive staff.
