I have always dislike sashimi, but then i tried their sashimi here, and the freshness of their sashimi just makes me fell in love with it. i ask for more, i was shock by myself too. But it's just too nice, there's a variety of sashimi which is great! I can experiment different kinds of them. Their chawamushi are nice!! adding soy sauce makes it heavenly. Their fried ebi comes in 5 and it's so nice that we kept it coming. It's definitely worth another visit!they have complimentary soups or teas f

They have special seats where it feels more japanese like, we have to remove our shoes and slide out legs under the table and sit on couch, so cool!

I used to come here whenever I'm craving for Japanese buffet! But because their location is a bit not that convenient and they required at least 2 weeks inadvance reservation, so it was not that easy to dine there. So have stopped going there around 2 years ago.

I remembered I really enjoy their buffet alot . It was the 'best' Japanese restaurant to me a few years back and felt it was really worthwhile as it was an ala-carte buffet! I could eat lots and lots of sashimi and their sashimi were really fresh.

Hmm.. but during this latest visit, i realised they are no longer the best to me anymore. Not too sure if their standard droppped or i have eaten better Japanese restaurant. The food has no longer has the 'wow' factor to me.

But being as a sashimi and buffet lover. I still like the resonable quality of their sashimi at a resonable price and most importanly their unlimited serving!

Overall, its still a recommended place for sashimi and buffet lover!

It comes in a teapot and they provide us with little teacups. This is the first time I had soup in a cup! Sashimi is quite fresh. We had a few rounds of those salmon and tuna sashimi.

Service was quite fast. We didn't have to wait too long for our orders to arrive.

i brought my girlfriend to Miramar hotel for their Japanese buffet. I heard about it from a friend who said the sashimi there were good so I decided to give it a try. It was the ala carte kind of buffet. The sashimi was indeed fresh but the selection was not as much as sakura or todai. Nevertheless, the price is quite reasonable. The raw food are really fresh, they melt in your mouth.

One of the best Japanese buffets I have been to is Ikoi Japanese Restaurant at Hotel Miramar. It costs around $45 per person. The buffet includes the hot soup pot, variety of fresh sashimi, curry pork rice, octopus and more. The soup base if flavourful without being salty, sashimi were thick in slices and fresh. Though pricey, I think the food is worth the money.

We decided to go back on this Tuesday, I thought we didn’t need to make a reservation as it is a normal weekday. We reached there 5 minutes before 6pm, it wasn’t open and we noted that price has increased to S$35++. Sharp 6pm the restaurant is open, there were a group of Japanese stepped in the private room already. It was to our surprise the restaurant was fully booked but the waitress was good and gave us a table till 7:30pm.

Once we sat down they started to place orders for us as they were aware of our time limit. The menu mainly has sashimi, sushi, handrolls , plenty maki, tempura, cooked, noodle/rice, salad, etc. First we ordered mix sashimi, they were serving 6 types of sashimi, standard maintained, menu has yellow tail but it was disappeared from our plate. 2 types of handroll serve, salmon skin and California, both were OK. Ramen, yakitori chicken can skip. We liked the tempura this time as batter was thin and crispy, it didn’t have the oily feel, we ate 3 plates! We did try some other foods too, they were fine. While we were eating, they served teapot chicken broth but it was warm only. After some while they served salmon miso soup, serving with flame so it was hot and taste good. Around 7:15pm a waitress reminded us for last order, then 7:30pm a waitress politely stressed that we could finished our food on our own time but the guess has already arrived.

Menu has not changed, service is good, an aunty is mainly serving drinks, seating wise, though the restaurant is small we still have our own space. We may not go back again as we are consistently looking for something new, this is good unless someone likes the same food. Having said that this is a very popular Japanese al a carte buffet restaurant, both visits were full house.

We love their sashimi, they are really fresh, we repeat it twice with salmon, squid, snapper, we didn’t order sword fish and tuna. Tempura prawn and variety of vegetable, teriyaki are also fine.

With such price, it worth repeat visit.

The place is rather small and crammed when i visited it at 8 pm, after having made a reservation for 10. I've been there half a year ago for the lunch buffet and was a little disappointed to find that the menu hasn't changed a bit. The ala carte buffet ensures everything that is served to u is fresh, especially the sashimi. However, due to the dinner crowd, serving is rather slow. I believe it is their gimmick to serve 'complimentary' soups while waiting for quite some time for the sashimi to be served. Feel bloated and you won't order so much. 1 must-try is the grilled tomato-bacon yaki-tori. The tomato is grilled till ripe but still juicy, paired with the bacon that isn't too salty nor fatty. Perfect meat-veg combination. Overall, the staff may be polite but not sincere.

Overall I felt the sashimi was pretty good but the rest of the food was just average only, not worth returning again for it. They also gave lots of complimentary soups, no doubt to fill up my stomach before I can order everything! Overall, I’ll never come back to Ikoi again. It really failed to live up to its hype.

Usually I will go to S**** Sushi / I****** Sushi to fulfil my jap food cravings but ever since my colleagues brought me to Ikoi @ Miramar Hotel, I swore not to visit any of the others.

The restaurant is situated at Miramar Hotel at Havelock Road. I must say it's quite inconvenient if you do not drive. We were greeted by the huge sake barrels and lantern at the entrance of the restuarant and we know we are at the right place! The deco of the restaurant seems to bring you all the way to a restuarant in Japan.

When we were seated, there were sashimi, salad, yakitori, chawamushi and tempura served. They actually did an "auto-push" of these items as it's the most common dishes people will order. How sweet they are! When you are enjoying the food served, you can then go through the long list of food they have on the menu. There are a wide variety of food for you to choose and I am sure one of it will satisfy your taste bud!

There is a very special seafood soup served like tea.. It was served in a teapot with little cups and before pouring it out, have to mix it with lime.. The thought of it make me drool! The tempura are served hot and you can hear the "crisp crisp" sound when you bite it! Fried rice is delicious as it's not too oily...

Well, not enough food? Just grab the menu and ask for more!! The service staff will be glad to serve you!
