Please take note that you will have a bad service especially during festive season because nobody bother to take your order and all customers have to go by self service.

However, I love their briyani chicken.

I really hope that the owner can improve his/her service because there are many complaints on staff courteousness is extremely bad and they often neglect customers.

We thought of trying its Indian food as we see alot of people ordering them. From where we are sitting, we get to see the helpers tossing and turning Pratas on their oily and hot stove with their bare hands. We ordered Thosai after our Malay Dishes in the same restaurant and bill was added on to the hand written receipt we had for dinner.

Thosai was placed in the traditional looking Indian cuisine stainless steel plate, shiny consisting 4 slots, 3 openings for Thosai Sauces while the biggest was for the big piece of Thosai. It was folded into half and you can feel the crisp by the circumstance of it.

Alif Restaurant have a few stalls: Malay stall, drink stall and Indian stall. Among all of the stalls, the most popular stall is the Roti Prata stall, always full of customers. Because their pratas has a smooth and buttery-taste. I chose their curry chicken as my dipping sauce for my prata! I find the curry sauce watery. They are good in making prata, but not the sauce.

Was feeling really hungry even before midnight. So decided to get some roti prata as my supper from the stall which is located near my house. As usual, this malay coffee shop is always very busy and crowded with many malays and chinese having supper.Have packed 2 roti prata with egg. Its tasted quite nice but not that fantastic actually. With their curry sauce, it tasted quite yummy. Although their prata is not the best, but still their roti prata is always popular among the customers.

This is a memorable dining moment for me because...I love Indonesian food, be it Nasi Goreng, Mee goreng, Nasi Padang or Pratas. We went to Alif restaurant which is always crowded, especially in the evenings & took home a take away of Mee goreng & Prata, since we were too tired to eat there. I must say, I loved it, It was spicy & very delicious, enjoyed the prata as well. We don't mind travelling all the way to Alif's for some Mee goreng somtimes.

Muslin Indian food is alien to me. They are rear dishes to me. Muslin Indian food is alien to me. They are rear dishes to me. We have a cycling outing last Saturday, after a long ride on uphill and downhill started from Jurong East mrt, we reached Bukit Gombak, my friend suggested to have a meal at this famous stall since we were there. As usual I have no objection because I wasn’t hungry, any food would do me good.

They serve few types of food only, my friend says their roti prata is quite popular. He ordered fried chicken rice in the end. Probably he wanted to have some carbo after losing so many calories! I was hesitating of what to eat….browsing the menu, they are not my usual food…..suddenly I saw Thosai, yes, this is for me. I have tried potato filling before, stick to this is safer.

Masala thosai served with dhal(lentils), curry and liquid coconut chutney. Taste wise ~ not so spicy and flavour is pretty mild though, however, I still could taste each flavour. Portion wise ~ just nice for me as I wasn’t hungry. Potato is soft and partly mashed, very easy to go with it. I like this thosai.

My friend regretted to have fried chicken rice when he saw the dried chicken, not so fresh salad, plus no chilli sauce! He didn’t touch the so-called soup (that little bowl) at all as it didn’t look approachable. He requested for chilli, the staff immediate replied we didn’t have chilli sauce for this dish but I could serve you ikan bilis chilli sauce “it is really good” he said. Generously he served him a small plate of ikan bilis chilli sauce so that my friend could swallow the dried chicken and rice!!!

I have ordered a teh tarik to go with thosai, first taste it was too sweet to me, quite smooth though, it would be better for sweet tooth patrons.

The serving staff was quite friendly, he kept praising my iPhone!
