I was served iced water but it was not refilled regularly. The meal was started with amuse bouche and bread. The amuse bouche was a creamy truffle mousse, topped with crispy rice, which pop in the mouth. The bread was soft and warm, served with thin sliver slices of cheese.

Appetizer : Burrata Cheese
Mango Olive Tapenade, Parma Ham, Rosemary Foam
The cheese was light and soft like tofu, where one can slice easily with just the fork. The olive mixture added a punch to the slightly bland dish.

Main : Tagliatelle alla Bolognese
Kagoshima Wagyu Beef Ragout, Parmigiano Reggiano
The handmade pasta was soft and tender. The dish was served pipping hot. Looked simple but it was delicious and very filling.

Dessert : Coconut Panna Cotta
Passion Fruit Sauce, White Mango Compote, Mango Tuiles
The dessert was light and tangy, without too creamy.
Overall the food was great and filling too. However I was quite disappointed with its service. I had not finished my amuse bouche when I was served the Appetizer course. Turned out that there was a wedding dinner that night. The staffs were rushing the lunch crowd, so that they could start to prepare for the dinner. I wish that I had been informed when I placed my order. I felt kind of being rushed through the meal.

Forlino has all executive and business set lunch, and ala-carte menu. For my dining, we ordered Forlino Classic Set Menu ($108.00), and an extra main course and dessert. We also ordered a bottle of Surgiva Sparkling Water ($9.00), which I prefer distilled water over the former.
Amuse Bouche is usually a single bite-sized complimentary course served by chef to give diners an idea of the approach chef has taken in his cooking. Forlino's amuse bouche has also indeed taken us further in anticipating better courses to come!
Classic Set Menu: Pan Fried Foie Gras. It is similar to the ala-carte under Appetizers section, Fegato Grasso ($36.00). It has wild rocket salad, balsamic cream, and homemade panettone. First of all, I am not a fan nor a dis-liker for foie gras. Forlino has prepared their foie gras perfectly well, being a little crispy and mushy fats, almost melting in my mouth.
Classic Set Menu: Homemade Chitarra Spaghetti, similar to ala-carte under Homemade Pasta and Risotto section, Spaghetti alla Chitarra ($36.00). It consists of octopus, arrabbiata spicy tomato sauce, water spinach, and Sardinian bottarga.
Classic Set Menu: Pan Fried Fillet of Cod Fish wrapped in Parma Prosciutto, similar to ala-carte under Piatti principali section, Merluzzo ($42.00). Besides the cod fish, it also comes with baby cuttlefish in black ink, white polenta and zucchini Flower.
Cod fish is my favorite fish of all, in terms of eating it. It is soft and can almost slide through your throat when swallowing. Forlino did not disappoint me with the cod fish. Their cuttlefish does not have the fishy seafood taste as you chew, and the combination of polenta (cornmeal boiled into a porridge) with the cod fish is just delicious.
Classic Set Menu: Ivoire White Chocolate Mousse, also in ala-carte under Dessert section ($15.00).
Directly ordered something out of the set menu, Duet of Angus Beef ($68.00). One of the best I had, consisting of braised short rib ‘brasato’ and tenderloin ‘rossini’ foie gras, marsala wine sauce, and ricotta spinach raviolone.
Forlino's pair of beef short ribs is just so tender, although I wasn't asked how well I would like it to be. I enjoyed every bit I took, sampling the sauce absorbed and the tenderness of the meat as I chewed.
Forlino's raviolone gave me the initial image of what one will see in some "bak chor mee" stalls. Something like a flat piece of dough, and a mini portion of minced meat enclosed in the middle? In any case, I am quite picky when it comes to vegetable type that I consume, and luckily spinach is one of those I favor, unlike celery.
Another dessert, but ordered directly from the ala-carte menu again, Coconut Panna Cotta ($15.00), with pineapple confit, moscato jelly and passion fruit.

The cold foie gras was rich in a buttery manner, and the flavor of game / innard was very strong when prepared this way, it resembled pate to say the least, with a rather distrinctive "raw" overture to it. I had to pair it with the crispy little pastry beneath it, alongside the tiny fruits used as decor, in order to mask the strong odor. Maybe we were just not used to it.

Both of us agreed that the hot foie gras was a lot better - tender, even in its slightly jellyish state, and tasty with smokey hints that complemented the natural flavor of this dish.

For the mains, the SIL took, at my recommendation, the Tortellini ai Cinque Formaggi (SGD$36.00) - 5 cheese tortellini with saffron cream sauce, kurobuta pork cheek, beetroot ouree and summer truffle. As usual, this sandy-textured pasta never failed to disappoint - smooth and rich in flavor. The pieces of tender black pork cheek enhanced the saltish flavor of the tiny little dumpling-shaped tortellini.

I had the Merluzzo (SGD$42.00) - pan fried fillet of cod fish wrapped in parma proscuitto, baby cuttlefish in black ink, white polenta and zucchini flower. The cod was cod and springy in its juiciness; I thought the fine layer of prosciutto around it was rather interesting pairing with its texture and flavors play. The baby squids were a surprise - chewy but soft, and resplendent of the smoky black ink's taste.

Decided to splurge on food after a miserable day so came to visit Forlino at One Fullerton. We had the mushroom soup. It was very very good. There were many chopped up fine mushrooms within the soup itself and the soup taste was really good with much mushroom taste. I love it. The crispy garlicky piece of bread was also delightful to eat when dipped into the soup itself. A must try! Will be back for more dishes.

Crab Salad with Wild Rucola, Sweet Pea Leaves and Cantaloupe
The crab meat tastes sweet and they are quite generous with the serving of crab meat.

Pan Roasted King Scallops with French Beans and Hazelnuts
The scallops are sweet and soft in the inside. It is not hard to chew (unlike some scallops where I have to chew and chew for it to break completely) and it feels rather raw in the inside. The beans are so simple yet so yummy! I was expecting more than 2 scallops though.

Tagliatelle with Duck Confit and Goose Liver
When the dish was placed in front of me, the aroma immediately travelled to my nose. It smells SO good. I was looking forward to the foie gras and it did not fall short of my expectations. The surface has this thin crispiness and I enjoy every bite of it. The pasta has this buttery (bf said cheese) feel to it and a taste that my taste buds could not recognize. The bf thought it tastes like Mee Pok though! A pity I was unable to finish the pasta because if I did, there would be no room for the next dish!

Roasted Suckling Pig with ‘Pimento’ Peppers and Spiced Apple Sauce
I totally dig the apple sauce. The skin of the roasted suckling pig is crispy and the fats melt as I slowly savour the goodness. However, towards the thicker part of the meat, the fats remained as it was and did not "melt" in my mouth which I did not like.

Liquorice Crème Brûlée with Raspberry Gelato
The Crème Brûlée is too sweet for my liking. It is good though, for someone who really has a sweet tooth. The Gelato, on the other hand, rates just nice on the sweetness level.

*went there quite some time ago so menu may have changed!* I'll recommend this place if you're looking for a romantic date

We decided to pamper ourselves and headed to Forlino. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of One Fullerton with a beautiful view of the Marina bay front and overseas the view of Esplanade as well. Totally in love with the comtemporary italian dining interior design here. We were like walking from reality to Alice in Wonderland?Sound magicals but we were passing a maze of blue walls upon arriving the entrance of the restaurant. The staff greeted us at the reception/ waiting lounge and direct us to the dinning place.

The staff greeted us with a broad smile and gave us the menu for ordering. The staff will then share with us today’s special menu. They are all well-trained with the food knowledge and servicing in front line.
After browsing the menu, we had our order placed. We were then served with the complimentary starter before dinner.
Forlino’s signature freshly baked Foccacia Bread. The beauty of the bread is the top layer of the bread. It is crispy and slightly caramelized and soft fluffy at the bottom of the bread. It is just nice to eat plain and even with the raspadura cheese. Thumbs up!Raspadura cheese. Awesome I would say. I totally in love with it. I had them with the bread.

Here comes my main course- La Cotoletta @S$35.00.
It’s the herb crusted kurobuta pork loin with arrabbiata spicy tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was not spicy at all. It taste sweet and goes well with the pork loin. The kurobuta pork loin was nicely done.Crispy on the outer layer and soft and moist meat texture once you chew it into your mouth. Not to mention that the art food presentation makes our appertize grows.

Elaine had Filetto di Ippoglosso @S$38.00.
Pan Fried Halibut fillet with mussel, taggjana olive & spelt risotto, saffron jerusalem artichoke cream. It is a good choice. The chef is indeed displayed a splendid cooking skill as the skin of the fish was nicely pan fried but able to retain the juicy, smooth and soft texture of the inner of the fish. My friend describe that she feels like floating in the sea when she had it in her mouth. Sound exaggerating but truly enough that’s the feeling at that moment. Risotto was nicely done as well. The portion was quite generous and it is a very filling main course.

We ordered House’s Signature Dessert- Salty Butter Caramel Lava Cake @S$15.00.
This is very sinful and filling. The butter-infused caramel will make anyone saliva dropping non-stop. The service staff will ‘pop’ the dessert for you. But i choose to do it myself because i want to enjoy the flowing moment. it’s a perfect combination with the salty ice-cream!

We also ordered il Tiramisu al te verde @S$15.00. Truly a good choice for Tiramisu lover. This is slightly different from the ones we normally had. It is served in green tea powder layed on top of the two layers of light sponge cake. It’s an alcoholic coffee tiramisu with unique combination.

Sorry for the poor quality photos taken using iPhone 4s. Great place for quiet birthday celebration with partner and small group. It’s a place that worth paying a hefty price tag but you get to enjoy the ambience of the place with good quality of foods and services. You will be spoilt by their attentiveness and meticulous service. Ladies are provided stool to place their handbags and any special requests required. Reservations are adviseable if you are planning for celebration. No wonder it is recognized with excellence reviews and services from different social media platform. I have attached one of the recognition here to share with you guys.

What I like about Forlino is the substantive portions. While the prices may be "cha-ching", the generous portions and authentic quality of the food make this one of the more worthwhile Italian ristorantes around to have classic Italian cuisine in sophisticated surroundings.

What I didn't like about Forlino was the very slow service. We were only served our amuse bouche and bread 35 minutes after we arrived for lunch. This is a place for a slow leisure lunch, not for busy work bees needing to keep within a single lunch hour.

We had:

1) Amuse Bouche of the day - Ricotta-filled Puff Pastry, with mild and fresh ricotta cheese encased in a buttery confection, delicious and just enough to whet your appetite

2) Foccacia Bread- refillable and so flavoursome you don't need olive oil at all

3) Spaghetti "alla Chitarra" with Lobster ($48) handmade pasta made with a millenia-old Chitarra press and a heady cognac-tinged French bisque-inspired lobster sauce. Delish

4) Black Cod Capelletti ($38) - unexpectedly paired with a creamy broccoli mush and a few sprinkles of garlic confit

5) Porcini Mushrooms and Pumpkin Risotto ($38) was heavenly. Rich, creamy but with just that perfect bit of bite, this was sprinkled with sprigs of edible flowers that provided texture and beauty

6) Black Truffle Risotto ($58) was flavoured with Robbiola di Roccaverano cheese, a soft-ripened cream-coloured cheese from Piedmont and Lombardy made with cow's, goat's and sheep's milk, which lent a full, tangy and mildly sour flavour to the heart-warming risotto

Forlino is one of the top Italian restaurants in Singapore. I have wanted to check out this place for a long time after reading so many good reviews. Knowing that DBS credit card was having 1 for 1 promotion for the Gourmet and Degustation Menu until end of October 2010, I made a dinner reservation before it ends and had the Degustation Menu which was $148 ++ per pax. Considered a sell since I only need to pay half of the $300++ bill.

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of One Fullerton with a beautiful view of the Marina bay front. A bit disappointing was the noise from the bar. It was quite noisy and loud. Fortunately it was for a while as the crowd at the bar left shortly.

The menu started off with the Amus Bouche and freshly baked foccacia. The Amus Bouche was light and nice. With a pinch of salt added to the freshly baked foccacia, it was soft and tasty.

Nexts up was the Crab Salad with wild rucola, sweet pea leaves and cantaloupe. Another artistic, light and refreshing dish. The cantaloupe sauce was a good complement for the salad.

I can smell the aroma of the Pan Roasted King Scallops from far when it was served. Complementing the huge and fresh scallops were french beans and hazelnuts. I really enjoyed the dish, every bite was filled with the freshness and pan roasted aroma.

This is my first time having the tradition Italian pasta, Tagliatelle. The tagliatelle was served with duck confit and goose liver. The duck confit alone was a bit salty to me. However eaten together with the tagliatelle and goose liver, the taste was balanced.

was looking forward to this dish wondering how an Italian restaurant will present the suckling pig in its menu? I was pleasantly surprised when I am served with a big piece of pork instead in a thin slice where how Chinese restaurant normally served it. The skin was crispy and the pork was moist and tender. A very well executed dish.

Dessert was creme brulee and raspberry ice cream. Simply fell in love with the creme burlee with its moist custard base and burnt caramel on the top. How I wish the restaurant could have served in a bigger portion.

The dinner was rounded up with a cup of coffee and petit fours. I googled and petit fours meant small confection generally eaten at the end of a meal or served as part of dessert. Its a french name meaning "small oven".

Located on the mezzanine level of One Fullerton, Forlino self-claimed to be the Singapore's finest Italian restaurant. And I reckon it is not an over-statement.

I started the meal with Porcini mushroom & chestnut cream soup ($26). The mushroom flavour doesn't taste too strong, but the little chestnut chunks in the soup do enhanced the sweetness by much. Very well-executed

As for starter, we ordered Blue fin tuna with sicilian cous cous, fennel and orange ($28) as well as the Spunner crab with tuscan bread & tomato salad and champagne vinegar ($32). The blue fin tuna is very fresh and soft in texture. I love the sicilian couscous, slightly sour and very refreshingly light. Yummy!

The crab salad is another delicate great dish. The generous portion of fresh crab meat is very appetizing, plus the salsa and champagne vinegar sauce, everything come together so nicely. Thumbs up!

For the mains, Risotto with red prawns and basil ($38) is my favourite!! The greenish looking basil risotto might not look too great, but this dish is simply too good. When you bite on the red prawns, I bet you will yell out "OMG"! They are juicy, sweet, and of awesome flavour!

We had Tagliatelle with goose liver & duck ragout ($45) too. I'm not really a goose liver fans, but the duck ragout is good. The rich yet complicated taste amazed me.

We ordered the Seafood casserole with lobster and shellfish ($58) to share. To me, the star of this dish is the toasted bread slices. They were marinated in syrup or honey kind of sauce before toasted, slightly crispy and go really well with the seafood sauce!

For the desserts, we had Dark chocolate and amaretti pudding with red berries compote ($18) and Poached pear with 'Gianduja' chocolate & hazelnut sauce ($18). Both were done beautifully!
